  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 03:24 AM) I guess I didn't make the soxtalk all-star team for posts. Should have just taken the 4 days off. Who the hell cares who gets the MVP...no one will remember that come next week. All I want to see is the AL win.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ Jul 16, 2008 -> 02:06 AM) Do I cheer for an out or a hit? I hate Jeter and I don't want him to be MVP, but, I want the AL to win. I'm going to cheer for the out and then hope Crede and CQ will take care of business and win this game for the AL. Not one of your better posts.
  3. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 04:16 PM) Are you seriously alleging that Josh Hamilton is on steroids or performance-enhancers? The same Josh Hamilton who is drug-tested ten times a month and has a coach/friend with him at almost all times? And are you alleging this without a willingness to back it up with something more forthcoming, or is it just an innuendo? I would have to say I'm 50/50 on Hamilton. You know I'm his biggest fan, but I learned a long time ago that when people start hitting home runs longer than anyone else in history, something might be up.
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 01:24 PM) i know hamilton is a great story....but the record for HR hit in a round has been broken like every other year recently...tejada, abreu, now hamilton....the balls are juiced, and its obvious.....i know hamilton is strong, but he popped a few pitches up that landed like 15 rows deep...not to mention, abreu did roughly the same thing in comerica, which is far more difficult to hit it out than a lefty a yankee stadium I don't think the balls are the only things juiced. As someone stated elsewhere, Morneau was a class-act last night. My brother's friend bet a fortune on Hamilton...that's a tough betting loss.
  5. He's throwing 84-87 mph, according to his agent. In agent talk, that means he threw 87 mph once on a fast gun, and he's in the 82-85 mph range.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 04:45 AM) That one 518 foot shot Hamilton hit today might have went over a rooftop. No, not really
  7. QUOTE (Shadows @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 03:04 AM) uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh It went out on my dvr, what happened at the very end with Cena in the back?
  8. QUOTE (The Beast @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 02:19 AM) Juan Uribe and prospect for Daniel Cabrera? Or is that a pipe dream? Pipe dream
  9. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Jul 15, 2008 -> 03:16 AM) Little late to this discussion, but I was still mesmerized by Josh Hamilton's performance. Simply amazing... This guy is one of my favorite players in baseball right now, and watching him do what is just did is unbelievable... What if we had picked up Hamilton this off-season? Our OF would be sick. I was told he was too injury prone by people on here. Oh well, at least he didn't go to the Cubs, who were involved in trade discussions for him.
  10. This announcing is beyond bad. I would rather listen to Ron Santo talk about footwear.
  11. Rick Reilly's comment about everyone being white in this might have been one of the most awkward comments ever.
  12. In honor DAllen's great post about how most of the threads make it seem like the Sox are on pace to lose 100 games, I thought we could have a thread discussing the best moments of the season so far. Here are my top 5: 5. Joe Crede's home opener grand slam 4. Gavin's no hitter into the 9th vs the Twins. 3. CQ's walkoff on Sunday Night Baseball 2. Jenks retiring Edmonds with the tying runner on 3rd base 1. OC's walkoff single against the Indians.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 11:07 PM) Lost by who? Who on here has ANY confidence in him? The media probably
  14. Jim Thome....great series, but I'm still waiting for a clutch hit this season.
  15. Lost in the PK hate sure to come over the all-star break is that Contreras is completely unreliable.
  16. Worst individual game in White Sox history. We might as well give PK his first at bat, and if he makes an out, pull him.
  17. Terrible, just freaking terrible. Do us a favor and retire over the next 4 days Konerko.
  18. 0 for 6, 9 LOB, and an error that cost the team 3 runs in a game the Sox had 22 hits. That's just about the perfect storm for a player.
  19. Please do something productive PK, and avoid the claim of one of the worst games in Sox history.
  20. Had about 5 great fastballs to hit, and couldn't put them in play. It's up to PK.
  21. After all these heaters, he has him set up for the slider low and away.
  22. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 10:55 PM) BTW Fathom, great call wanting to leave Russell into die. That was all cause he didn't let Thornton start that inning!
