  1. Perfect timing for Berkman to cool off. Every Cubs game is just so predictable.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 20, 2008 -> 01:58 AM) The NL is just brutal. Either the Cubs are playing a team that features a AAA offense, or they face a team that features three or four #5 starters. Oh yeah, they get to face the Pirates every week. Their starting pitching reminds me of the White Sox right now. Other teams just don't get a lot of hits against them. Also, hopefully Marmol's arm falls off soon. He's being overused.
  3. Somewhere, redandwhite has a boner.
  4. Lester with a no hitter going into the 8th inning.
  5. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 20, 2008 -> 12:56 AM) so with 2 on and 2 outs and...you think tejada is gonna get something to hit here with berkman on deck What's the chance of Berkman going 0 for the series?
  6. Great catch by Edmonds...I'm sure all the douchebags love him now.
  7. I hate the National League...I can't believe Astros didn't line up Oswalt to face the Cubs this series. Soto's HGH has really paid off, as he's one of the best rookie catchers in a very long time. Also, Ted Lilly's on his way to a sub 4 ERA again.
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 19, 2008 -> 04:42 AM) The Reds are starting to hit, and with as improved as their pitching has been all year, they are better than their rapidly improving record suggests. If only they could trade Griffey Jr. for some legit talent. Bruce needs to be in the majors. I'd be even higher on the Reds if I thought Homer Bailey would pan out.
  9. So the scouting report I heard on Eldred yesterday was that when he faced a crappy pitcher who was throwing 82 mph, he hit a mammoth homer. When he faced the hard throwing Balfour, he was K'd easily.
  10. Awesome job by Masset, OC, Swisher, etc. Enjoy tomorrow everyone.
  11. Rich Aurilia....any chance he wasn't on steroids during his peak years?
  12. QUOTE (jphat007 @ May 18, 2008 -> 11:59 PM) I won't lie. i had some big thing typed up about how i wouldnt take my chances with him hitting. whoops Welcome to my world. How's life jphat?
  13. QUOTE (BFirebird @ May 18, 2008 -> 10:57 PM) He went there after he went to Purdue for a couple of years. I went to school with him at Purdue and then he transferred to get more playing time at NIU. The guy who parachuted into the back of the center field wall was priceless.
  14. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 18, 2008 -> 10:56 PM) not a save situation. It was in the 8th, so he would get a save if he finishes this.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2008 -> 08:29 PM) One run might be enough with Cain on the mound. I nailed this one.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 18, 2008 -> 10:54 PM) DFA a young kid who still has options left? Not exactly the smartest move. I recall days when a lot of people wanted nothing to do with Boone Logan ever again. Blame Hafner
  17. QUOTE (BFirebird @ May 18, 2008 -> 10:54 PM) If you guys are looking for something to watch tonight the "Playing for Peanuts" is pretty funny. My boy Tug Gillingham from school is the catcher for that team. Just a little plug. I saw that the other day...I really liked it. How often are new episodes played? Also, I had never heard of Gillingham before. He was at NIU when I was there for my Master's.
  18. Brian!!! Hell yes. Let Masset bat here, or bring in Boone.
  19. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 18, 2008 -> 11:52 PM) Are you kidding me? We haven't been able to keep a lead all game and Jenks has been used a few days in a row. I have a feeling he said that cause Anderson is up next.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 18, 2008 -> 10:51 PM) My god JD is incredibly slow. He had to wait to see if it was caught....oh wait, he didn't.
  21. A hit here and letting Masset finish it would be awesome.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2008 -> 10:49 PM) Maybe Crede can hit a sac fly? Good job Crede! Ironic thing is his error didn't cost the Sox a run.
  23. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 18, 2008 -> 11:45 PM) We need a complete game from our next staring pitcher's outing. JD swinging at a pitch off his knuckles. We have tomorrow off
  24. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 18, 2008 -> 11:46 PM) JD! AJ! COX!!!!! 10-8! Sounds like a Scrubs commercial.
