A great Big THANK YOU!
We lost to a better team this weekend. They've now won an astonishing 31 of their last 36 home games.

A great Big THANK YOU!
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 04:09 AM) We know, we know. But honestly, nobody besides you and Tony support that BS. To now be now 17-23 on the road after we were just 17-14 on the road is fantastic, right? To now be only 1.5 games up after just being 6.5 games up is fine, right? To not be able to open a local newspaper, flip on a local sports news station, or even ESPN itself is good, right? To hear it from a bunch of yuppy-f***s is fine, right? Sweet. It's OK guys. We're fine. As long as we're in first, it's cool. Even if we lose 10 in a row with an 11 game lead is fine, too, right? Don't give them a hard time because they're remaining optimistic.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 04:07 AM) If Kemp was a lead off type guy, I'd be for it, but we should be shooting for the stars instead of the ceiling. And I'm sure Kemp has plenty more AB's than BA, so that really isn't a fair comparison. Shooting for the stars? Matt Kemp has about as much star potential as any young hitter in baseball. As he cuts down on his strikeout totals and moves to a hitting park, he's going to be a stud!

White Sox Loser
Look at the lineup we trotted out there tonight. That's not a very good lineup. We're missing 60+ homers with PK and Thome out of the lineup. When you factor in that Crede was brutal this weekend, and Swisher's been a disaster....it's hard to see how this team can play first place caliber of baseball for the next few weeks.

Alexei sure was in a hurry at the dish tonight.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 04:01 AM) I'm guessing Cre-DP Nope, just the good ole Crede pop up to the right side

Crede was a foot away from a 5-4-3 triple play

A great Big THANK YOU!
I'll support this thread....losing 8 of our last 9 to the Cubs is just disgraceful.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:52 AM) I've said that we should sell high on Contreras while he still has some value. I've thought all along that these past couple of months have been an a aberration, and based on his last couple of outing, my hypotennuse is getting stronger. I really don't think what we will get from Contreras for the remander of the season will be anything better than what we would get from Masset/Broadway/whoever in his spot in the rotation. Broadway has not been overly impressive for a while now. Have you seen the numbers that guys put up in the majors in comparison to their AAA stats in that league? Jojo Reyes looked like Cy Young in AAA.

If that means we throw at Aramis here, I'm happy they just scored.

OC's defense tonight has been horrific.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:46 AM) Jenks curveball is terrible. It's amazing to watch 2005 WS highlights, and then compare it to the stuff we see now.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:46 AM) The Dodgers need pitching big time if they want to stay in the race in the NL West, perhaps they'd have interest in Contreras... It's all been a fantasy of mine to somehow get Ethier as well. So we're going to trade from a position where we have no possible replacements for a guy who plays at positions we have stars at?

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:37 AM) If you are just talking about this series, fine, but all together, Patterson doesn't even come close to Quentin, and Ramirez is better than either DeRosa/Fontenot/Cedano/etc. I'd take Derosa over Ramirez

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:35 AM) If you watched no games this whole year except these last 3 on mute and you didn't look at any stats that pop up at the bottom, I wouldn't know if I wanted Patterson or Quentin, honestly. CQ's been fine this wknd, just stop

Nice hit by Thome...we might want to play him on Tuesday night.

Wow, Crede continues his dreadful weekend. You want to see what position caused the sweep....Aramis has destroyed Crede

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:19 AM) I think the Cubs will just go out and get a guy like Paul Byrd from the Indians, a vet, and in the offseason, sign Sabathia. Byrd wouldn't be an upgrade...they'll go for the biggest names out there.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 03:17 AM) Cubs got no one to trade for him. They got big hype prospect who have proven nothing. He ain't going to the Cubs unless they give up Vitters + more and they ain't giving up Vitters who is having issues in the minors. They could do what the Astros did when they got Tejada. Something like C.C. for Murton, Hill, Ceda, Veal, Colvin

I think Dotel's trying to hit him.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:15 AM) I'd actually hope they do give him up, for the Sox sake in the future- as long as it's not to the Cubs. I know Philly has this Carrasco guy. He's 20, SP, and is probably their best prospect. We don't play Cleveland much in the 2nd half.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:12 AM) Ramirez and Patterson sure had no problems hitting homeruns. We just get the benefit of warning track outs. It's like playing at the Twinkie Dome.

QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 02:09 AM) If the Cubs get Sabathia, nobody will stop them until maybe the Red Sox, and even they couldn't if NL gets home-field. Now, if the Phils get Sabathia, the Cubs will go down to them in the NLCS in 4. Do the Phillies have anyone to even offer? In many ways, I hope the Indians stay close enough to the pack in the AL Central so they don't give up C.C.

Some real good swings against Dempster this inning.
