  1. Tough luck on the double, but we'll take it! Not a good defensive inning for Abreu and Ensberg. A hit by Swisher would be huge!
  2. The crowd is louder now than anytime since opening day. Maybe the alcohol consumed during the rain delay has sparked them.
  3. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 03:40 AM) It's to the point where I almost can't wait for the Kenny/Ozzie/Walker era to end. I know its early, I know theres a lot of games left, but nothing appears to have changed since last year. Nothing. Ozzie's job is safe this year, but if the Sox are mediocre this season, KW better be fired.
  4. Swisher's timing against righty pitchers sucks! If anyone saw Baseball Tonight last night, it's similar to the struggles of Carlos Delgado.
  5. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 02:30 AM) If you're saying that it puts Floyd at an injury risk, then I could understand that complaint. But if you're going strictly based on performance, I'd rather have Floyd out there than going to Macdougal and Dotel. 100 pct injury
  6. Gavin's really struggling with the mound. Between that and the rain delay, I really hope he doesn't get injured.
  7. When Joe Girardi is more cautious with a starting pitcher than you are.....you know you're being stupid.
  8. Maybe the worst culprit in terms of being pull happy is Thome. He hasn't hit an opposite field homer this season, and has grounded into the shift on a nightly basis.
  9. It's inexcusable to let Floyd continue after an hour long rain delay.
  10. I really don't want to see Floyd pitch after an hour long rain delay.
  11. Ramirez is 3 for 22 this year, and Greg Walker says his timing has been bad. When you have an idiot like that in charge of your hitting, no wonder you underachieve.
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 03:18 AM) I think there is a little problem with MB's shoulder. They've been skipping him using the "keep his innings down" excuse. And I've noticed he lowers his arm angle a bit which is common with shoulder impairments. I don't know if it's serious but I wouldn't be surprised if we hear more about it this year. Good observation, and I totally agree that there's something not right about the whole situation.
  13. After seeing Floyd struggle with the Yankees due to their patience, I'm still baffled as to why we set our rotation so that Buehrle wouldn't face the Yankees.
  14. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 01:35 AM) So why the hell are people glad with this delay? We are going to lose a battle of the bullpens, especially already down by 3 runs. Hope of the game being cancelled?
  15. QUOTE (southsidehawkeye @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 02:33 AM) Im under the assumption (or maybe the hope) that JD will be our DH when Thome is gone... Until then we'll just have to live with his below average defense. That would be in two years, and both will have their deals up.
  16. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Apr 25, 2008 -> 02:33 AM) So I didn't see this play. But let me guess: did it involve JD not getting lined up properly to make the throw, stutter-stepping to get himself into position, throwing essentially flat-footed and then being off line? No, he kind of jammed himself on the catch, but it shouldn't have mattered. Giambi literally would have been out by 10 feet if the throw was anywhere near home plate.
