  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 11:04 PM) Keith Law now has the Sox thinking Jason Castro as SF is supposedly on G. Beckham right now. Where did you see this?
  2. Gallagher, Rich Hill, Ceda, Patterson, Colvin, Donaldson, Murton, Pie
  3. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 11:09 PM) So who's the idiot who traded for Swisher and OC? I don't really get your attitude. As part of your strange anti-Ozzie crusade, you seem more happy that Ozzie has some harsh comments thrown his way than to hear the Sox might actually do something to improve thier s***ty hitting. I guess whatever floats your boat. Those comments are pretty much KW deflecting blame for getting a couple duds and letting his roster get old. Oh well. I guess it's Ozzie's fault. I'm just sick of hearing lame threats by Ozzie when nothing ever changes. KW and him need to get on the same page immediately.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 11:04 PM) Keith Law now has the Sox thinking Jason Castro as SF is supposedly on G. Beckham right now. Not a fan of Castro. No one really projects he'll be more than an average starting catcher in the majors, at best. Good thing we won some worthless games at the end of last season.
  5. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 06:01 AM) Whoever had TB is an idiot. They just signed Longoria to a 6 year deal and Alvarez wants a major league contract. They will NOT take Alvarez, nothing is more clear than that They talked during the game that they'd move Longoria to 2nd base.
  6. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 10:04 PM) Paraphrased: I put together this mess but it's Ozzie's job to fix it while I sit here with a thumb up my ass. Thank you. KW gave him CQ, but Ozzie decided not to use him in two different big spots today.
  7. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) Are you being serious? because those got me real excited for the rest of the year. Yes, I'm serious. What does Ozzie expect KW to do personnel wise? We used some very valuable resources to acquire OC and Swisher this offseason. After 2 months in the season, does Ozzie expect teams to just be selling off their players for 50 cents on the dollar?
  8. Wow, awesome comments by KW!
  9. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:51 PM) Can we trade like Nick Swisher + Broadway for Adam Dunn? Or Swisher + Broadway + Poreda for Matt Holliday? Sorry, couldn't help myself... Reds are playing some good ball, they won't trade Dunn unless they get a #2 or 3 starter in return. I'd give up the whole farm for Holliday though, but where would he play?
  10. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 10:42 PM) Correct. With a very limited minor league system(that is being generous) and a shallow 25 man roster, there isn't much to be done. You're going to see a few guys shifted around in the order. Big deal. Go with this lineup: OC, Thome, CQ, AJ, Dye, Swisher, Konerko, Crede, Ramirez
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:29 PM) I agree. The Sox supposedly offerred more money, but he was ticketed to the Cubs probably even before it was assummed Hunter would be a White Sox. They offered more money, but he was set on playing RF and being the first Japanese Cubs player. He didn't want to play CF, and I can see why after he played there for one game for the Cubs.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 10:24 PM) Not as much as Fukudome turning us down because he wanted to be a teams first Japanese player has. I mean, it's not like I'd trade getting Iguchi for anything since it helped us win a title, but if we had Fukudome in CF and leading off, we'd be awfully good. And the Cubs would have ended up trading for Swisher, according to the rumors. However, I'll never believe the Sox were really that close to signing Fuku.
  13. I never thought I'd say this, but the Sox failing to sign Rowand has killed us so far this season.
  14. I've heard these threats before. Now, the next 24-48 hours will be trade winds central again.
  15. Thanks for nothing Rockies. Work will be a lot of fun tomorrow.
  16. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:10 PM) The 23-32 Tigers who have three starters with ERAs well over 5.00? I agree that they have the talent, but it would take way too many players to turn around their games. Rogers, Pudge, and Sheffield are done, Verlander has lost a ton of velocity, Zumaya is hurt, and Todd Jones is still their closer. Even if their offense turns into the juggernaut that they were supposed to be, they don't have the pitching to reach the playoffs. Zumaya and Rodney are supposed to be back in 10 days. If it comes down to our hitting improving or their pitching improving....maybe I'll take the Twins!
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:09 PM) Uribe can't even hit the Mendoza line, not sure how he's the least of our worries. Cause he didn't even play this weekend. Unless the Suck Patrol can get going, this team is in a lot of trouble.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:08 PM) Doubt it, their pitching is worse than our offense, plus they are in a big hole right now. Aren't they only like 5 games behind the Sox? Their offense has also been putting up some big numbers lately.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 10:05 PM) It wouldn't because it would make the team worse. You ever get the feeling that some of Getz's family members post on here? In all seriousness, Uribe is the least of our worries. Ramirez will continue to play as long as he's doing good.
  20. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) That move won't do anything. We need productive middle of the order hitters. Either have our own get going or bring in other guys who can. Good luck trying to acquire middle of the order guys. This move allows OC to move into the 2nd spot, and you can put AJP into the middle of the lineup.
  21. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:56 PM) That said, the Sox still have a really good shot to win the Central. The Royals and Tigers are terrible and the Indians will struggle to win 85 games this season (and that's assuming that their lineup begins to hit). And, as usual, the Twins simply don't have the talent/resources to dominate. If the Sox continue pitching the way that they are, they could probably take the Central with 89 wins. I still think Tigers have a good shot to win the division. Maybe not by 10 games though!
  22. Couldn't agree more, Walker is like a family member to guys like Crede, Thome, Dye, PK, Uribe, and AJP. However, that might be the problem. Maybe they need a different point of view and a different type of r'ship with the hitting coach.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) If your going to make a crazy move, you bench Swish, move Alexei to CF, waive Uribe, and call up either Richar or Getz (probably Getz right now) and play him at 2B. That'll never happen though of course. Trade Egbert and Richar (I don't think organization is too high on him) for C. Guzman, and then play him at 2nd base and leadoff. Move Ramirez to CF, and have Swisher rotate around the field and play 4 games a week until he gets it going.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:40 PM) Best pitching coach in baseball. I feel so bad for him watching this offense, if we could hit at all, we'd be a team that would win our division and Don Cooper's work with the pitching would be the #1 reason why. Keep it up Coop. No kidding, the pitching staff has been amazing. They keep us in 90 pct of the games it feels like. Great job Coop!
  25. Even if it's not his fault, you HAVE to make a change or two. This pitching has been too good for this team to only be a few games over .500. These hitters that are struggling have no constant at the plate to go to when they need it. They look so stressed when there's RISP. I feel bad for Walker in some ways, as he gets so much blame when he does NOTHING that effects the actual game. However, he's failed at his "job" for so long, and this is the real world where you get canned if your area fails.
