  1. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 27, 2008 -> 01:17 AM) javy is all over the place Is it out of the question that AJP missed those pitches intentionally to try and let it hit the ump after the missed call on the first pitch?
  2. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 27, 2008 -> 12:14 AM) hes been by far the most disappointing guy on the team...where is the power???? at least guys like konerko and thome had down years last year and can be attributed to aging...swisher should be entering his prime, hes been so bad i almost cant believe it...and with him i dont buy that its entirely PED related...mainly because, as i said, he was still pretty good last year I think Thome and PK have been more disappointing.
  3. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 27, 2008 -> 12:13 AM) Again, I must reiterate, just how disappointing has Nick Swisher been this year? Now at .202 To think of all the other players we could have possibly acquired for a package of Sweeney, Gio, and DLS.
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 27, 2008 -> 12:11 AM) i think its a great possibility Someone with insight into the organization said the other day that the Sox try to acquire guys that they think are clean and have consistent numbers since drug testing went into place.
  5. Nick Swisher makes getting a hit seem difficult. Even if he hits it well, it's an easy out. Keep us in this game Javy!
  6. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 27, 2008 -> 12:10 AM) we are getting to the point where its a big sample size...hopefully something clicks..but each day that he continues to stink im starting to believe more and more that he is goin through a mark mcgwire esque ending to his career Funny you mentioned McGwire, because at what point do you wonder if the reason for the massive fade so many of our guys have had since the ASB of 2006 is due to coming off of PEDs?
  7. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 27, 2008 -> 12:07 AM) thome now hitting .199 Hopefully he can turn it around. If not, maybe he'll have too much pride to continue and retire after 2008. I can't take another year of "bad" Thome.
  8. Wow...I thought he crushed that also! Sad to see how much power these guys have lost.
  9. Wow...I thought he crushed that. Thome is now below .200. Please don't play him against Laffey tomorrow.
  10. Still in this game! Sox need to get some momentum back.
  11. Scott Kazmir has K'd 7 of first 9 hitters he's faced tonight. We'll see him this weekend, along with Cy Sonnanstine, Edwin Jackson, and someone else.
  12. Something obviously isn't 100 pct with Vazquez. You can tell by his loopy curve and the fact he's getting no extension or arm action on the change-up. HOPEFULLY, it's just a dead arm.
  13. Javy simply didn't show up tonight. Get Masset up in the pen.
  14. HBP...Javy's curve is very weird today, as he's throwing it a lot slower than usual. If I didn't know better, I would guess he has a sore shoulder.
  15. Byrd's got nothing today...no command of his "stuff". Sadly, only one run thru 3 innings.
  16. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 26, 2008 -> 11:50 PM) though that shoulda been an out...at least cabrera looks like he may be starting to figure things out at the plate...he should be able to abuse victor on the bases Station-to-station baseball baby!
  17. Why oh why is Ozzie so scared to put on a hit-and-run with a slow hitter at the plate?
  18. He just missed a meatball.
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 26, 2008 -> 11:42 PM) did aj really just throw someone out Botched hit-and-run, but it was still a good throw. Javy better start competing out there.
  20. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 27, 2008 -> 12:40 AM) nice play joe...this is on pace to be an early exit for vazquez He doesn't look comfortable out there.
  21. Swisher has absolutely no power. Can he use an aluminum bat?
  22. That pitch to Swisher was definitely not a strike for Vazquez to Sizemore.
  23. Nice catch by Swisher....hopefully Vazquez finds his change-up.
  24. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 26, 2008 -> 11:17 PM) wow that got out? must be alot of wind...i thought that was a routine fly out off the bat...maybe i just misjudged it though Delucci has a lot of power, and can hit a fastball as well as anyone. Vazquez is not very impressive so far. No command of his change-up, and his fastball is mediocre for him.
  25. QUOTE (PlunketChris @ May 27, 2008 -> 12:16 AM) why do we always immediately give runs back?? Maybe it just seems that way, especially when your offense is so bad and pitching is good.
