  1. Leadoff double for Sweeney after Konerko "trotted" unsuccessfully for a foul ball.
  2. Ugh, how many pop ups can we have today? The hitting has been just awful in 3 of the last 4 games now.
  3. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 01:17 AM) It always seems that the day after we score a ton of runs, we can't even score one. Swings are way too long tonight. Smith is just dominating our hitters right now, as everyone is off-balance.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 02:15 AM) Buerhle's keeping it close. The Sox will score soon. I think this inning. I always think Quentin's going to bomb one off of these soft tossing lefties.
  5. Another two strike hit allowed by Buehrle. On the bright side, his fastball got up to 87 mph.
  6. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 01:10 AM) Have you just erased the beginning of last season from your memory? Probably a good idea! Seemed like we saw that inning once every game from even the middle of our lineup Yes, but rarely do you see Konerko swing and miss as bad as he did on that 0-1 count.
  7. Wow, Konerko looked silly in that at bat. Not one guy has tried to hit this pitcher the opposite way.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 02:05 AM) I agree. Why so careful with him, but not with the other guys? Buehrle made only 3 starts last September, was pushed back in spring training and pushed back a game in the first 2 weeks of the season. It may not be something serious, but there has to be something. When he was struggling in 2006, wasn't it because he was throwing everything to the outside corner?
  9. Thome keeps hooking pitches foul, as he's so far out in front of everything. There's really no reason for him to be playing in two straight games vs lefties.
  10. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 15, 2008 -> 02:01 AM) If the velocity stuff is legit, I'm not buying the Sox and them bumping Mark for no reason. Something is obviously wrong. I just thought it was telling that his change up was 5 mph slower. No matter if the radar is calibrated right, he usually has more than a 5 mph difference.
  11. Sox turn a 1-6-3 dp. 1-0 A's going into bottom of the 4th.
  12. A's lead 1-0 after the Suzuki single. Buehrle has no zip on his fastball, as it's at 84 mph and his change up is at 79 mph. The A's are just serving pitches into center.
  13. Buehrle's in some trouble, as A's have 2 on, no outs. His pitches are getting an awful lot of the plate.
  14. Offense seems extremely flat so far. I have no idea how either of these pitchers get major league hitters out.
  15. Our hitters are getting way under Smith's pitches. Hopefully we see more line drives the second time through the order. He doesn't have anything special on his pitches.
  16. Tyshawn Taylor officially wants out of his LOI with Marquette. It doesn't seem like Williams made a good impression.
  17. Yesterday's Cardinals game said Ankiel homered to the catcher.
  18. QUOTE (CWSGuy406 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 10:31 PM) That's just looking at things through black-and-white shaded specs. Their offense will be one of the best in the NL and they have the makings of a great bullpen. Their rotation may be a bit shaky but again, what team in the NL doesn't have holes? They have more than enough talent to be the top team in the NL Central. Like you said, the NL is so bad, there's only 2 or 3 teams that you figure will definitely be good. Piniella is managing his starting rotation very aggressively, and you wonder if that will hurt his bullpen in the long run. The Phillies deserved to lose today, as bringing in Romero to face Soto instead of Gordon against Pie is just awful managing.
