May a curse be on your house, oh tribe of Cleveland!

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 11:50 PM) Substitute Crede, Uribe, and Ramirez with Fields, Ramirez, and Anderson and I would feel so much better with our team. I honestly think Ozuna's our best 2nd base bet right now. At least he provides energy. -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 11:40 PM) Just for s***s and giggles, I'll respond to this one. And as far as my history of criticizing posts, I'll just go ahead and let you sit on your high horse for that one. I now recall why I have avoided game threads for the past season and a half. So I'm going to blame you then for the fact the Sox have sucked for the last year and a half. You need to be in every thread for the rest of the season. -

QUOTE(southsidehawkeye @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 11:42 PM) I agree that it is way too soon to be calling for him to grab the bench... you have to at least give him a little bit of time to settle in, he probably has some serious nerves out there. Lets remember that he is a rookie that just defected from Cuba in his first MLB game(s). He had a great spring and earned his spot on the team, now should it be in CF? I would argue no. But Im ready to give him a little slack if he gets off to a slower start than we would hope. There are others on the team, who have been in the majors for much longer who deserve to be on a short leash but I think Alexei needs a little bit of room to grow. But, that just my opinion. Here's the problem with that....all offseason, we've heard how vital it is for the Sox to come out of the gates strong. With our early schedule, we can't afford the growing pains that Ramirez is likely to go through. I also don't understand why we have him batting 7th instead of 9th. -

Well, that's what you get for throwing a 3-2 offspeed pitch to the #9 hitter. Vazquez doesn't have a very good slider tonight. Carmona isn't sharp either, so there will be more runs scored. -

Big batter here for Vazquez and the Sox. -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 11:35 PM) You have a history of criticizing every player on the White Sox. Give me a break. We're 11 innings into the season. And you have a history of focusing on criticizing other people's posts than actually saying anything about the game. I'll be content if you just don't respond to another post I make all year....it will probably make you happier. Look around, I'm not even close to being the most negative poster on here. -

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 11:31 PM) 2 games into the season against 2 of the best pitchers in the AL. Nice early start for you fathom. Yep, I'm the only one criticizing Ramirez. -

I'm so happy Ozzie has his new play toy. We might have 4 of the most impatient hitters in baseball at the bottom of our order. -

QUOTE(sf_soxfan @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 11:12 PM) It's startin' to piss me off...how does A-ram win the starting CF job?? He didn't....Owens did. -

Two interesting notes from Cowley in the pregame: - Owens will be leading off and starting in CF when he comes off the DL. - A player in the majors said that when he looked into Gavin Floyd's eyes, he thought that he was a deer in the headlights. Anyone want to guess who said that? -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 06:15 PM) They're going to wait until the new coach is hired -- I think that much is certain. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong. The guy I'm getting the information from is a NYC high school assistant basketball coach who's close with the Taylor family.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 03:07 AM) Who is Robert Andino and why is he beating the Mets? Cause Matt Wise is an awful pitcher. That ball was hit so hard last night.

QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 03:33 PM) its still a bad title... but maybe i'm not getting the reference. either way lets get ourselves a win today. I'll second the notion that I don't like these ridiculous titles for the game threads. -
Latest update on Tyshawn Taylor is he will get out of his LOI, but won't be allowed to go to Indiana. The source thinks he'll sign with Ga Tech in 2 weeks.
-
Looks like Ty Taylor is asking out of his LOI.....http://njmg.typepad.com/zagsblog/2008/04/taylor-to-ask-f.html

I think Weber would be a very bad hire for Marquette. They'd be better off with a younger guy who recruits across the country better than Weber does. And as for Beasley staying with K St., that had more to do with Delonte Hill (AAU coach) staying their as an assistant.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 04:09 AM) BTW -- how does this process work with regards to the recruits? Nick Williams, MU's other 'prized' guard coming in, has officially asked out of LOI. That's par-for-the-course for a situation like this though, right? Marquette's new head coach (so long as MU moves swiftly) will have a chance to speak with these signed players, yes? Yes, the player can still sign another LOI with the school they had initially signed with. However, this doesn't happen often. I read another thing tonight by Taylor saying he's going to start looking at other programs.
-
QUOTE(hitlesswonder @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 03:24 AM) Pat Forde on ESPN suggested that Bruce Weber might replace Crean at Marquette. It would be a good move for Weber; he loves Milwaukee and the job would be a step up. But I would think Marquette would go after Bennett. Marquette's not a step up from Illinois.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 2, 2008 -> 02:10 AM) A lot of pitchers are going to cruise against Minny... It's funny, but he's throwing harder than I've seen in the last few years.
-
Garland's cruising so far in his first start....ugh!
-
Someone close to Tyshawn Taylor said there's no way he goes to Marquette now, and will look at Kansas and Ga Tech again.
-
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 1, 2008 -> 04:09 AM) The lineup today should have been pretty obvious. LF-Swish SS-OC DH-Thome 1B-Kong RF-Dye C-AJ 3B-Crede(should be Josh, but whatever) CF-Anderson 2B-Ozuna Great post, between this and and using Dotel instead of Linebrink, it wasn't Ozzie's greatest game.
