White Sox vs. Twins, 5/10/07 (W)
Great game to have to follow from work. Every time I refreshed the game, the Twins had made another out.

2007 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 10, 2007 -> 07:18 PM) 4-4 in steals. .517 OBP. I'll always love him for his at-bat against Lidge in the 8th. Him and Blum are definitely guys I'll always root for.

Guillen leans toward demoting Sweeney
QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 10, 2007 -> 04:44 PM) I think Ryan will develop power eventually, but I still think he looks like a #2 hitter to me. High OBP, tons of contact, sees alot of pitches, good speed. He kinda reminds me of Jeter putting fastballs oppo and pulls breaking balls. Yeah, he's never going to be a 20 homer guy. However, he still breaks a ton of bats right now, and he doesn't really have gap power. As we've mentioned, when he hits the ball real well to the opposite field, it's just a warning track fly out. I think he'll be a very good #2 hitter though, especially if he learns to clear his hips. He's already our best hitter at taking tough pitches and letting them go for balls. I wouldn't even mind if he struck out more on 3-2 pitches if that meant he turned on more pitches (of course, this is stuff he'll improve on as he goes along).

2007 White Sox Catch-All Thread
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 10, 2007 -> 04:51 PM) Maybe we should make a trade for Troy Glaus? He'll be available soon. Alex Rios would still look good here. No place for Glaus to play. I'd love to get Rios though, he'd be a great fit in RF to replace Dye after this year.

I never thought I'd see the day where Ozuna would get 5 straight starts against righty pitching. The worst thing is we have him in the #2 spot, and we're not even taking advantage of his bat control.

Uh oh......
The title of this thread got me excited, but there's nothing to this story.

Guillen leans toward demoting Sweeney
I actually agree with Ozzie that Sweeney could use one more season in AAA in order to gain some strength. However, he's still a better option in LF than Mackowiak/Ozuna. It doesn't matter what we say though....once Pods is back, it's his job.

Congratulations
That's the best he's looked all year. Congrats!

Good job by Molina with those sliders. Congrats Danks!

Thought for a second he lost that ball.

Nice sequence to Kubel.

Get Aardsma and Thornton up. Every fastball is up and in. If we lose this game, this team is done.

These fastballs aren't very crisp. Jenks should stop worrying about the media worrying.

Oh boy, here we go.

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/9/07 (W)
The last two sliders by Boone were the best lefty offspeed pitches since Marte's first year with the Sox.
-
White Sox vs. Twins, 5/9/07 (W)
Jenks should have been in to face Cuddyer. A 3-1 slider in that selection is a bulls*** call.

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/9/07 (W)
Oh gosh! What a freaking joke. Uribe needs to stop and throw that ball. PK also can't scoop anything this year.

White Sox vs. Twins, 5/9/07 (W)
Ugh, MacDougal really struggles against lefties. That slider just isn't effective against them, and he doesn't have his strong fastball to blow by the hitter.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:54 AM) Here comes some Micro Managing here. Danks has plenty left in the tank. Why do this. Redmond destroys lefties, and if he hits a gapper there, not only are the Twins 3 runs down, but Danks leaves with a lot less confidence. I liked the move.

Time to pull him.

This ump is terrible this inning. He's blown 3 calls.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:48 AM) Do you think it's bad or good that Ozzie's cost us two games in a month and a half? How many would a "good" to "great" to "average" manager cost his team in a month and a half? None? I even said it in another thread....he's been better this year than last year. With how bad our offense has been, it's impressive to even be close to .500. Last night's game was real bad, but we still should have won with the lead we had going into the 8th.

Nice to see a pitcher go up and in with 2 strikes like that.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:46 AM) Is this the beginning or a winning streak, or a tease? Man, I'm getting pessimistic. Too hard to tell....getting a lot of broken bat hits, but we're also having more focused at-bats. Still 9 outs to go in this game.

Credit for that walk goes to the umpire.
