  1. Pathetic inning there. We're going to get Gobble next inning, and we know how well our 1-2-3 are vs LHP.
  2. Looking at a broader point of view, isn't it amazing how similar so many of Vazquez's outings are? It's like a bad movie on rerun.
  3. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 02:06 AM) Has Hernandez been this large his entire career? He looks smaller now than he did earlier in the year. Nice uppercut swing Juan.
  4. Twins won Crede has shown no patience tonight.
  5. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 02:04 AM) Yeah that was a total momentum killer. We didn't have the lead, and Gooch was on first. Why send him???? I have no clue. We were smacking the ball around the field against Hernandez. Cora has to realize that not only is Iguchi slow, but Sanders was playing Thome so deep that it didn't take him very long to retrieve the ball.
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 02:03 AM) Tigers win, bad news. But the Red Sox lose, which is more important than the Tigers result, regardless of what people say around here.
  7. Very nice pitch! We need to get the leadoff man on base.
  8. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 02:01 AM) It would be nice if even his biggest admirers see that he probably isn't the guy you want on the mound in games that really need to be won. I had a feeling he'd not have his good stuff tonight after battling so hard against the Yankees. Teahen's more dangerous than Sweeney right now.
  9. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:59 AM) Rank the Sox Killers: Grudz, Sweeney, Emil Brown, Javy Vazquez, Joey Cora, Mark Tehan If we lose this game, my blame goes directly towards Joey Cora (in regards to who had the biggest impact on the outcome).
  10. If we do lose this game though, who's starting the Congratulatory thread for Javy?
  11. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:59 AM) Why did he even throw that? Because this is the time of the game where we usually making coming back a little more difficult.
  12. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:57 AM) Is this really fathom? You could tell early that Vazquez didn't have anything, and the body language on the Sox hitters wasn't confident. It's just too bad the Twins are winning right now.
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:56 AM) We have the best offense in baseball, this is one of the worst pitchers in baseball. Sure that makes sense. We've had bad base running, bad pitching, bad hitting, and bad defense. It really is just one of those games.
  14. Johan's having a dominant performance tonight.
  15. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) Hernandez and his 8 ERA is owning our team tonight. How f***ing pathetic. Way too many guys are swinging at that junk he's throwing to the plate today. We seem more off-balanced against him than we do Mike Mussina, etc.
  16. Have these guys never seen a changeup? No wonder we can't hit Johan.
  17. One of the worst games of the year for Dye. We keep chasing that changeup out of the zone.
  18. QUOTE(quickman @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:51 AM) I agree Joey made a poor decision but I really think Javy needs a doctor. He hits the sixth inning and he turns into a pussy I know I'm a pessimist, but I think that most people could see the 6th inning was a disaster waiting to happen.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:50 AM) You know that doesn't apply. You can say it was a terrible decision, but you can't say it was a terrible decision because Paul got a hit next inning. But you know that. I know what you're saying. I just hate that decision with PK coming to the plate. I still can't believe he did that.
  20. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:46 AM) The good news is we still are going to see KC pitching the rest of the evening. We need our 4-5-6 to get it going here. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:47 AM) Well the offense will be fine and I think we won't end up with 2 tonight, but the fact that 5 and dive Javy is officially back is not good news. He should NEVER pitch past the 5th ever, that Toronto game was an abberation. And although with that said, that Dye error and having 2 runs in 5 innings off the worst SP in baseball shows the lack of focus showed up 1 day late. Did a certain manager of the White Sox really say it wasn't realistic to think we'd sweep this series? I heard that he said that on the radio, but I wasn't sure.
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:45 AM) Nice to come home from work and see that Runysomething Hernadez with a 8 ERA shut down our team, and then see that Javy's clock hit the 6th inning and he implodes again. Maybe someone can man the hell up on the O. Don't worry, the score doesn't resemble how the game has really gone. Dye dropped a fly ball to allow one run, and our runs were a gift from the umpire and then a TERRIBLE decision by Cora to run us out of the inning.
  22. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:44 AM) Was he talking about how great Cora is, or was he lambasting umpires? Funny how when Uribe was obviously out, Hawk said it was a tough call. Silvy called him out for whining about the umpires, and Hawk said that it wasn't whining since it was a fact that the umpires cost the Sox 2 games on the homestand. He was stating that it was a fact that Garland had K'd Jeter and Abreu.
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 01:42 AM) And those 2 were a gift from the first base umpire. He wanted to give a couple more, but Joey wasn't having any of it. Did anyone hear Hawk embarrass himself with Carmen/Silvy this afternoon?
