  1. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:41 AM) I don't care if Dye belts 40 again and drives in 115. I want no part of him next year or in the next few years. He's slow as hell now and I don't want him getting slower and older in the next three-five years here. Put him in LF.
  2. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:40 AM) I say it because no one else will. If he's to fix his career he's to make serious mental and physical adjustments that he hasn't shown himself capable of making in the last year. And the problem is I don't think Ozzie will give him that chance. It's not a knock on Ozzie. Anderson sucked last year, and him and Ozzie clearly don't see eye-to-eye.
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:38 AM) I still have my eye on Baldelli. Too many OFers for that team. I wanted Dukes until you and Cheat informed me about his problems not only off the field, but with his teammates. In fact, I wouldn't be totally averse to sending Dye to a west coast team for a pitching 'spect and then sending that 'spect and some of our lesser arms to Tampa for Rocco. I'd love to have Rocco, but he really seems to struggle staying healthy. He seems like one of those guys who is going to lose his speed sooner rather than later.
  4. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:37 AM) We'd have to get a major 'good vibe hometown' discount for Dye to be back here next year. cough cough
  5. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:36 AM) He should be getting ABs in AAA. What I was saying -- and I think it was clear -- is that he has never made adjustments. Always has had the same crap approach and crap swing. Probably always will. He takes the same swing on every pitch, basically neglecting where the ball is. That's why teams are throwing him so many low and away changeups. He shows no ability to adjust his swing after evaluating what pitch is on the way.
  6. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:33 AM) Are you advocating KW in CF for us this year now? Haha, sorry about that. I won't even fix that.
  7. Looks to be a tough inning for Javy. Will he make it out of this inning?
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:28 AM) I'd like to see a real CF solution brought in this year. Not a chance in hell it happens this year. Ozzie loves KW. I shudder to think about what our outfield will look like next year.
  9. Speaking of trade value, am I off the hook when people ridiculed me for saying Rich Hill has just as much, if not more, trade value than McCarthy? We got a great package for McCarthy, but Hill is also very valuable.
  10. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:26 AM) I don't think he sees what he's swinging at. Exactly, and has everything to do with starting his approach too soon. That much movement before the pitch, in addition to limited playing time, makes timing/vision impossible.
  11. Very nice....that's gotta be all for this pitcher as he's been throwing junk for a while now.
  12. PK....not a good time for one of those strike outs that you say are good.
  13. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:25 AM) Give me a break. He had the same crap approach last year, too, and he had all of the first half and significant parts of the second half to make adjustments. It isn't playing time -- he's either uncoachable, suffering from bad coaching or simply an all-around mediocre baseball player. I think his swing just sucks.
  14. Nice rocket by Erstad. I'm thrilled with the double, but it's comical to Hawk kiss his ass about watching the outfielder.
  15. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:19 AM) Me too. I'm kinda surprised he was successful with that swing in the minors. Can those who watched him in the minors shed some light? His plate approach and mechanics has been my gripe and reason for seriously wondering if he can be a productive major league hitter. I was always told he had a massive hole in his swing when he was in the minors.
  16. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:19 AM) Walker is garbage. Please. He had two homeruns off of Felix in one lucky game. I'll bet he'd get Aced twenty times in a row if he saw him again. That's exactly what I'm saying....it seems like just a fluke right now. I'll just chalk it up to the mystique of 2005.
  17. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:15 AM) He's had the very same mechanics since the start of last year. Same approach. Same awkward lean/bend. Just a bad hitter. That's why I say, if he goes anywhere, I'll bet he's as bad as here except for Texas. Send him down. He looked great against King Felix in 2005. However, I've always wondered how he's ever hit at any level. He has an atrocious swing. Time for Javy to let KC stretch out their lead again. This might be the worst fastball he's had in his Sox career.
  18. On what planet does a hitter think he'll be successful by starting his approach towards the pitcher well before the pitch comes close to home plate?
  19. Can we please send this buster back to the minors? He's such a waste of a roster spot.
  20. It's sickening to see Anderson's mechanics.
  21. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 25, 2007 -> 03:11 AM) More annoying; Erstad's weak grounders, or Crede's popups? Erstad's grounders. At least when Crede gets on track, those same swings are going to produce 25 homers.
  22. Big hit Juan!! Bannister has nothing right now....nice to get 2 out RBI.
  23. Crede with some meatballs to hit, and hits his 1000th pop up of the season.
