  1. On the bright side, at least Razor held up Thome.
  2. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 04:20 AM) Podsednik NEEDS to swing more often. Just put the ball in play. He doesn't have a poor swing or anything. Obviously, the biggest complaint we've had about him is his 49 called third strikes last year. I couldn't agree with you more though....when he's aggressive at the plate, he's a much better hitter. He gets in trouble sometimes when he tries to be crafty at the plate. He doesn't have the Ichiro/Pierre like slap ability.
  3. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 04:20 AM) Thome answers his "clutch critics" It's the 9th inning Thome that I have a problem with. He has a lot of big hits in the 7th/8th inning last year
  4. Yes sir! Piazza has never been afraid to hit into a double play.
  5. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 04:20 AM) You're not having a good prediction night. True...but at least I can point out he was making quite the effort to go to LF.
  6. Ugh...here we go. Some very good and very bad baserunning in top of 8th. I love how PK took 3rd on that single up the middle. However, we make way too many outs on the bases in that same situation that ended the 8th.
  7. Thome's only chance to hit this guy is to drive it to LF.
  8. We're making hitting seem difficult. Come on bullpen.
  9. I missed a game, but I've yet to see AJP hit a ball well.
  10. Wow, this guy has some funky stuff. Too bad we got rid of him.
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 04:00 AM) Huge K for Count. Hand it over to the pen, lets win this one. We're going to get Marshall instead of Calero. A few insurance runs would be great against the lower part of their pen.
  12. Excellent pitch! That better be all for him. Very encouraging last 4 innings.
  13. Got away with a massive hanger. If he throws a fastball, he better get it up in the zone.
  14. He's really slowing up his wind-up on those offspeed pitches. With the quality swing that Buck took vs Contreras earlier, I'd like to see MacDougal in the game.
  15. Start getting some guys up in the pen. Nice sequence to Swisher.
  16. Nice play by Crede....that was a cookie for Piazza. Chavez is going to be sitting on the fastball.
  17. QUOTE(rafacosta @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 03:44 AM) I don't know who has been worst...JD or Crede... Dye's been a rally killer.
  18. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 03:41 AM) JD is pressing, he needs to chill. He's taking every pitch that's right down the middle, and flailing wildly at pitches 3 feet outside or 6 feet above the plate...WTF. His swing is way too long, it's pretty simple. According to Farmer, his swing was horrible the last week of ST.
  19. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 03:37 AM) Has a fanbase ever made the HR appear to be as evil as Sox fans do? And it's so nice to see Pods playing well. Good point. With our offensive personnel, playing smallball is usually a bad idea. People that think hitting homers is bad are the same people who think we didn't win in 2004 due to Carlos Lee swinging for the fences, etc.
  20. Better stuff that inning by Jose. Looks like he got two more MPH on that last pitch. Let's make Harden work this inning and make sure it's his last.
  21. QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 03:34 AM) it looks like paulie is being really hard on himself so far this year. I hate to see him press too much and get into a big slump. Hopefully he gets some hits and eases up. He's trying real hard to go the other way right now. He'll be fine....he had some good ABs this wknd.
  22. Contreras needs to get us back in the dugout with the lead. He's battling out there with maybe his "D" stuff.
  23. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 03:25 AM) Thome entered the game with an OPS over 1.000 against RHP this year. I have no problem with Thome vs RHP. I just didn't think he could catch up to Harden's heater. I'm thrilled we're being more aggressive on 3-0 counts this year.
