White Sox @ Twins: 4/10/05 Game Thread
That replay pissed me off even more. Uribe had an easy play on that ball. I've officially throwing in my name for the Crede sucks bandwagon.

QUOTE(Disco72 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) Crede was just trying to make a play.... he would have had to get that ball last year with Valentin at SS.... just bad luck. There's absolutely no excuse for that play by Crede. He knows that they have a righty shift on for Lecroy, and that he runs so slow. Crede seems to be a step slower this season in the field.

Dear Mark Buehrle..........please throw some offspeed pitches!

Well, thanks Joe Crede. Not sure if it mattered, Buehrle's pitching awful tonight.

Uribe would have had an easy play there with the slowest player in the majors running to first.

Buehrle seems to be throwing a ton of fastballs.

It's never easy against the Twins, is it? That was a play that Konerko should have been able to make. However, I won't complain because I'd rather he be in at 1b and still in the game then for Gload to take over his spot.

Great to see Cliff use his slider more this year than last year. You can already tell he has more confidence in his non-fastball pitches.

Yes, but a main reason we underrated the Twins last year was we never thought Nathan and Rincon would have the years that they did. We know what to expect from them this year, as well as what to expect from Santana. Silva being out for half the year is a huge loss.....he's a real innings eater.

Well, good thing we got Lecroy out last inning. Marte still seems to not have a lot of zip on his fastball though.

Holy cow, that 3-1 pitch to Bartlett was right down the plate....as was the first pitch to Mauer. This ump is beyond awful with his small zone.

If that ball took a different bounce down the line, Pods could have scored on it.

Great baserunning by Crede!

Wonder if we'll see the squeeze here with Pods?

Watching Crede this season, it amazes me that they've never tried a different loading mechanism for his swing. He's having a terrible time getting the bat through the zone. Why not try a leg kick or timing mechanism like Sosa used?

A.J. just hitting some rockets tonight. Best thing is that he's also avoiding hitting into weak double plays, something that really plagued him last season.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) I TOLD YOU STATHEADS TIMO IS f***ING CLUTCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But wouldn't you think he'd be more useful being used as a pinch-hitter in clutch situations?

Haha, Timo! Nicely done

I know there's few people on this threat tonight, but am I the only one not impressed with the Twins at all this year? I don't even care if I jinx the Sox tonight, I'm not impressed with the guys they've called up to replace their old starters. Bartlett looks like someone who you can jam whenever you want. Losing Silva will be a massive loss for them.

Wow, good pitch by Garland. Not sure what Crede was thinking, Lecroy was very close to the base when he went after him. Lets get a grounder Jon....and he does!

We should intentionally walk Ford here. Cuddyer is a definite double play threat.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) Dude. Chill the hell out. It's tied. Nuke, when their pitcher is mowing down our offense, and Garland has been known for his meltdowns, you don't have to be a genius to realize that the Sox chances are not great in a tied game. The Twins have a tremendous bullpen, so if they get a run this inning or the next, we're in a lot of trouble.

11 in a row retired by Radke. I'm not exactly confident that we're going to pull this game out, especially with Rincon and Nathan lurking.
