Gameday! Seattle vs. ChiSox 4-15-05
Shingo coming in for the 9th? Ozzie should have Marte up in case Ibanez is up in a game-tying situation.

I sure don't miss Olivo being a liability against any righty pitcher that has a slider. I'll never forget his pathetic at-bat at Tampa Bay 2 seasons ago when he swung at some sliders a good 2 feet outside.

No complaining by me tonight about the decision to pull Garland. Relievers always seem to have a better chance against the first hitter when there's no one on base.

QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) Does Iguchi look as bad as his line? Yes, he looks as bad at the plate as he did good against Santana on Sunday night.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) Jon only has 87 pitches. If Oz brings him out, he better be on a very short leash. Like not be bringing the tying run to the plate. Vizcaino should be starting the inning. No reason to mess around with Garland out there. Spiezio has always been dangerous vs Garland in the past.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 01:52 AM) Phew Jon weathers the storm. Anyone else think that was a hit off the bat by Winn?

Big DP! Very good job by Garland there to get a very tough batter.

Vizcaino should be in to face the tough lefty here. I thought that's one of the main reasons we got him.

Take him out Ozzie! 5-2, tying run up to bat. Garland's pitches have had no velocity this inning.

Bases loaded for the Mariners. 1 out for Boone.

Ozzie needs to get someone up in the pen. No one is throwing yet.

QUOTE(traydragen @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) Just got in and what the hell did I see...perfect through 6..hopefully this is a sign of things to come from Judy...I mean John By the way, I know he's pitching great from just the numbers but is everything clicking for him tonight and is he hitting all of his spots or has some of this due to the Mariners hitters?? He's been real good, hitting his spots. Mariners have hit one ball deep. Besides that, nothing out of the ordinary.

2 out rbi for Uribe! He's swinging great tonight. Also, Bobby Hill just put the Pirates up by 2 against the Cubs in the 8th!

Rowand showed exactly how you're supposed to play a deep flyball before. It was almost exactly the opposite of the way Everett played that triple yesterday.

Gameday! Seattle vs. ChiSox 4-15-05
Rowand swings on first pitch, and grounds out weakly. Pineiro is catching a huge break with the Sox right now, they've let him off the hook for some horrid control.

Jeremy Reed just missed one there. Just a lazy fly to RF. 2 outs for Beltre.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) I'm sorry, but that's a pretty pathetic effort through the first three innings by Sox hitters. Pineiro has been absolutely nowhere near the plate, and these guys are swinging at the second pitch. I don't think I've seen Joel throw three pitches in one AB that were over the plate. I don't mean to b****, but I don't like what I'm seeing. That's a real poor job of hitting there... We don't have a lot of real tough outs in our lineup. I said this a few days ago, but we're a very easy team to pitch to. I'm thrilled with our 6-3 record right now, considering we could easily be like 2-7.

We're showing much better patience tonight, but we're still not making very good contact at all.

2 out walk to Konerko. Pineiro can't throw his fastball for a strike.

QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 12:46 AM) Iguchi hits a check swing nubber back to Pinero. 1 out. Iguchi's going to have some difficult games against tough righties. I wouldn't mind Harris getting some more playing time against RHP until Iguchi gets used to inside fastballs.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) We got one run. Yet is anyone besides me really dissappointed? There's a case where bunting totally f***ed us over. Normally, I wouldn't b**** like this, but we just totally gave Pineiro a break there. Oh yes, that was terrible f***ing managing. Not only that, but if A.J. got the bunt down, we were giving up an easy out to a pitcher that had walked the first 2 batters. If we had the heart of our order coming up after A.J., that would be one thing. But we had 8 and 9 batters batting after him.

Anyone else annoyed that Hawk said the only thing Timo can't do well is run? How about hit above .250?

Gameday! Seattle vs. ChiSox 4-15-05
Nice play by Boone on the grounder by Timo. Should have got more than 1 run that inning.....but that's what smallball will do for you. You play for one run, that's usually the most you're going to get.

Sac fly by Uribe on a massive hanger.
