Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
QUOTE(RME JICO @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 09:29 PM) The worst part is that it was against a RHP. Imagine a LHP. Hopefully Ozuna gets most of the playing time against LHP. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) Anytime you have 6 hits and 2 runs off Loe, you just have to consider it a success. TIP YOUR CAPS! The sad thing is that bad defense accounted for all the runs.

Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 09:28 PM) Make that six AB's between Podsednik and Erstad that neither have hit a baseball further than five feet out of the infield. So the soxtalk rule is that we're not allowed to openly root for injuries?

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 09:25 PM) What, you're not inspired by his quick recovery from surgery? But...but...but....he had a few hits in a minor league game. Shocking, as that's the talent level he should be playing at.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 09:21 PM) Terrible throw from Podsednik. Bounced about two times before reaching the plate. And he was in short left field! It amazes me what happened this offseason, it really does. Buehrle really making it look difficult to get the Rangers "C" squad out.

10 hit plateau vs Buehrle....what's new?

Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 09:11 PM) Toby Hall has been AWESOME this spring. The reason I loved his signing is that it reminds me of the AJP/Iguchi signing. By that, I mean it made total sense, as all those guys fit the holes we had at the position and were the best available. Let's hope Uribe didn't strain any ligaments in his knee.

Nice swing by Iguchi. I'm looking forward to seeing him not have to protect the base runner.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 09:05 PM) I plan on keeping track of Erstad's and Podsednik's at-bats and results just so at the end of the year when people say "how many times did Erstad move the runner over when we needed him to?" I can give an actual figure. Are you saying that you think Erstad will do a good job, or that moving runners over will be overrated?

Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 08:59 PM) If you think this is funny, wait till the game is on the line and a LOOGY comes in and destroys our 1-2-3 hitters. I'm going to be so annoyed when on the rare occasion that Pods does get on base, we're automatically going to be bunting and giving up that first out of the inning. Has Buehrle's velocity been above 85 over the last few innings?

Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
Good grief, our 1/2 combo is depressing.
-
Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
So, who wants to keep track of every called 3rd strike, pick-off/caught stealing, and ground out to 1B by Pods this year?
-
Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
Anyone else hear Garland laugh off Hawk's question if Buehrle would be back with the Sox next year?

Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 08:50 PM) So according to the hawk, Stewarts swing is different. I actually noticed that he no longer looks like a pitcher swinging the bat. People always say that the Rangers have the best hitting coach in the majors.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 08:48 PM) Does losing your hat chasing a flyball add to the grinder index? He got a sensational jump on that play.

Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 08:45 PM) Jake Westbrook probably has a smile on his face when he faces our team. Just tell the 3rd baseman to be ready and let the rest happen. Westbrook had a 1.69 ERA vs the Sox last year, and an ERA over 8 vs the Tigers.

The Midwest Bracket (St. Louis)
No one gets away with more bs calls than Horford and Hansbrough.

Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) But we lead the AL in The Grinder Index. Excuse me, are you forgetting The Piranhas?

Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 08:34 PM) Well as of late September he was still using that line so I don't see why he would stop now. We're the 3rd most talented team in our division now. Last year, you could realistically argue we were the most talented in the AL. This year, we might be the 6th or 7th most talented.
-
Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
I wonder if Hawk is going to be saying all year that we're the most talented team in the majors, and it's just a matter of time before we gel?
-
Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
I actually believe Iguchi will be a lot better not hitting in the 2nd spot. It's too bad we had to replace him with a mediocre caliber hitter though. Iguchi has never been a good hitter when having to protect the runner, as it led to a lot of 2 strike counts or feeble swings.

Sox v. Rangers, 3:00 Start, 3/25/07
QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 08:13 PM) There's our top of the order. Two soft outs; Thome up with no one on base. We have the best 3/4/5 in baseball, and the worst 1/2

Buehrle makes the art of not allowing a run every other inning seem difficult.

The West Bracket (San Jose)
When Afflalo is making his shots, UCLA is the best team in the country.

Danks wins White Sox fifth starter's job
QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Mar 25, 2007 -> 03:53 AM) I thought Ozzie hated young white kids Wrong time to bring up this argument.

Winona State vs. Barton
The funny thing is that this ending was exactly what I've been begging for throughout the NCAA tournament.
