Floyd article
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 04:47 PM) Kenny is starting to sound like he did about Jon Adkins. Adkins came over the same way as Floyd, thought to be pretty much a non-prospect at the point of acquisition amoung most scouts. Kenny didn't agree. The majority of scouts were right. I still like the Garcia trade though even if Floyd is, as I figure, not a very good pitcher. There just seems to be so many excuses when it comes to why Floyd struggles/struggled in the past. I saw some highlights of his game vs Colorado, and he didn't seem to have much on his pitches. His wind-up is real ugly.

Rowand to the Sox??
Don't know if this was posted, but Comcast said the package would revolved around Logan. If it's Logan and a middle prospect, go ahead and do it.

Big XII Tournament
For the love of Blum, please win tomorrow Kansas and Texas.

The 2007 Big Ten Tourney
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 05:30 AM) It'd be Indiana before Illinois or Michigan State. But I don't think there is reason to worry for them, Purdue is probably the only bubble team left in the Big Ten. Lunardi just said that Purdue is in. I think the biggest loser today was Fla St., as they seemingly have no chance to make it.

The 2007 Big Ten Tourney
If Purdue wins tomorrow, could they really put in 6 Big 10 teams, and 5 ACC teams?

The 2007 Big Ten Tourney
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 10, 2007 -> 04:42 AM) Who in the heck are you going to put over them? MSU, UI, IU, Wisconsin and OSU are all legit tourney teams, there is no denying this. It's more that I think besides the top two, the other teams aren't very good. I know that they're going to get 5, but in no way do I think Purdue deserves to make it unless they win tomorrow.

The 2007 Big Ten Tourney
I can't believe this horrific conference is going to get 5 teams in the tournament.

Rowand to the Sox??
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 04:18 PM) ...but...but...but...our minor league system is stocked with outfielders! Rowand has played on the biggest stage the game has to offer and he didn't piss down his leg. When has the White Sox organization ever shown you they could develop minor league talent? Actually, Rowand was ungodly awful during the postseason. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 04:19 PM) If we were to make a deal, i'd really like a lead off hitter involved in it. Ozzie loves Pods though.....it's not going to happen.

Rowand to the Sox??
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 04:14 PM) You only deal for Rowand if he's ungodly cheap. We've got enough OF. Which outfielders do we have that can put up decent to solid numbers vs LHP?
-
Rowand to the Sox??
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 04:06 PM) If we gave up Phillips we would be on the losing end of that deal. Why's that? Phillips isn't even on the radar as far as the big league team. Here's the way I look at it: Brian Anderson sucks. Thus, if we send him down to the minors, I wouldn't mind having a platoon of Erstad/Rowand in CF.

Rowand to the Sox??
I'd be all for a trade of Rowand for Logan, even though I know it won't happen.

ACC Tournament Thread
The refs in the GT game were an absolute joke. Every 50/50 call went to WF, and they called 12 offensive fouls on the Yellow Jackets. Tough to win when the refs suck and the other team makes 16 out of 23 three pointers. I'm still confident GT will get in....too many top 50 wins not to.

teacher is to student as....
Thornton is a LHP with a world class fastball. Floyd is a righty with an average fastball.

03-08-2007 - Sox vs. Rockies
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) Rogowski now PH for Konerko. Anyone else find it interesting that Rogo is getting so much work in ST? Trade bait perhaps? Yep, him and Tracey will likely be moved in a minor league deal shortly.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) Agreed. But thanks to Bobby Jenks and Aaron Rowand, and Scott Podsednik

03-08-2007 - Sox vs. Rockies
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 09:56 PM) I know it sounds simple, but it really is that simple. Yeah, Konerko's was probably more dramatic because we were behind. That's fair. But I have a hard time calling any HR that didn't actually win us a game the biggest in team history. Of course, Pods was the one who hit it. I'm sure if Dye or Crede had hit the walk-off no one would debate it was the bigger HR. It doesn't matter who hit it....that grand slam on the 1st pitch after a commercial break was as dramatic a situation as possible.

03-08-2007 - Sox vs. Rockies
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 09:31 PM) Your negativity hurt the team. banned for life... Trust me, I was scared to go back to the park. However, the only game I went to last year happened to be the Pods grand slam game vs the Astros. The poor Astros....Scott Podsednik is their version of our Mike Sweeney.

Anyone want to guess what the only playoff game I went to was?

03-08-2007 - Sox vs. Rockies
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 09:25 PM) Even with all of the world series stuff...I still don't know if there was a moment I am more a fan of than Joe Crede vs. David Riske. I don't think any of the other moments even happen without that swing. That's funny, because that is very likely the most important regular season homer in Sox history.

03-08-2007 - Sox vs. Rockies
QUOTE(Y2HH @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 09:23 PM) I loved the Konerko homer -- but I have to admit, Pods was far more dramatic -- obviously. From my pov, I thought the Konerko situation was so much more dramatic. The Pods homer was more surprising, but the PK homer was surreal. Hell, I was still pissed at Pods noodle arm for letting Burke score on that single in the 9th.

03-08-2007 - Sox vs. Rockies
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 09:19 PM) LOL. You just refuse to give Pods any kind of credit. PK's homer was the turning point in that whole series. I can honestly say Konerko's homer was my favorite sports memory ever.

03-08-2007 - Sox vs. Rockies
QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) What are you, watching the Rockies' coverage or something? Yahoo had the score as 6-2 about 10 minutes ago.

03-08-2007 - Sox vs. Rockies
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 8, 2007 -> 09:16 PM) Bottom 3RD B:0 S:0 O:2 Matt Holliday reaches on fielding error by third baseman Joe Crede. Garrett Atkins scores. Joe Koshansky to 2nd. I think Baker, the next batter, homers. Even with the unearned runs, you don't like to see Floyd give up so many runners.

03-08-2007 - Sox vs. Rockies
Who gave up 5 runs in the 3rd inning? Was it the great Gavin Floyd?
