And That's A White Sox Season
On the bright side, at least we were in contention for the whole season, which means our attendance was superb this season. That can only help for next year's payroll. I'm not even that pissed off right now, as this team has done nothing since the ASB to make me think we'd be able to hang with the Tigers and Twins down the stretch.

BTW, I think Crede's back has really hurt his swing. He looks so stiff and mechanical at the plate again. As soon as we're eliminated, I hope we rest him, and then he gets the minor surgery to get better.

And That's A White Sox Season
In a sick way, it's great to see Ozzie get embarrassed by Frank Thomas like he did. Ozzie should have just STFU, and focused on screwing this team up on a day-to-day basis. Joe Crede and Jim Thome: thanks for showing up down the stretch this season.

Was there ever any doubt we'd not get a hit in the last 2 innings, and it would take less than 25 pitches?

Good series guys. Ozzie Guillen deserves to be fired.

SWING THE FREAKING BAT! 14 games left until that loser hopefully goes to another team and breaks the hearts of fat teenage girls and pisses off their baseball fans.

QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:42 PM) Wealz is making a lot of friends here quick. Tone it down a bit dude! He's a 100 pct Ozzie backer. There's no problem with that, but I hope he doesn't expect a lot of people to agree with him right now.

QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:40 PM) I get it. When they win they care!!! If I thought this team and manager was actually giving it their best effort and showed a sense of urgency, then I would have never said the "booing" comment.

13 pitches the Sox are allowed this inning, or they'll go over the 25 pitch limit I set for them for the last 2 innings.

I thought this was the funniest thing I've read in the last few days: this team is playing like they're guaranteed a playoff bid this year due to winning the WS last season.

QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) You must be a Cubs fan. Good one...have fun defending Ozzie over the next few weeks.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:34 PM) Nope. We'll have to witness Street flick his breaking ball over the outside corner and make Uribe look foolish. If Uribe bats next inning, then I will buy the domain for fireozzie.com.

I'm so glad that we kept Ozuna on the bench there...probably the best guy we have at starting a rally.

SWING THE FREAKING BAT! This team deserves to get booed non-stop tomorrow night.

QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:30 PM) Pierzynski can't hit anyone, esp. not lefties for the past 2 months. It's quite comical that he made the all-star team, and then has sucked to high hell since then. If he's not hitting well, then he's a mediocre catcher. His pitch calling has been extremely poor this season.

Lefties hit better against Kennedy than righties do.

Time for the Sox to make the 6 remaining outs in less than 25 pitches.

QUOTE(SinkingShip06 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) DAVID RISKE WHEN YOU GOT IT WITHIN ONE?!? I can't believe people actually want us to re-sign him this offseason. Every pitch he throws is a meatball.

QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:21 PM) That's a GM issue. Good grief, it's impossible for you to ever criticize Ozzie, isn't it?

Gload in left?
I don't understand why we didn't give Gload a chance to win the LF spot about 2 months ago. The Twins season turned around when they stopped settling for mediocrity, and they removed Lohse from their rotation and released Batista.

QUOTE(Wealz @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:20 PM) And when is the last time Konerko was pinch hit for in that type of situation? PK isn't in a massive slump against a certain type of pitcher. Thome is virtually worthless against LHP for about the last two months.

Time for Crede to be benched. His back has taken away all of his bat speed.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 17, 2006 -> 10:17 PM) He is on the bench with bad back, and 24 double plays. At least PK seems like he can get a hit when he's at the plate now.

Does anyone kill a rally quicker than Thome?
-

Keep contributing so much Thome...Garland could have hit a grounder like that.
