QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:38 AM) Now why with boone logan and his 94-95 mph fastball would anybody put Neal Cotts into a game. I'm happy he put Cotts in tonight.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:37 AM) Buerhle was as bad as ever tonight. He throws so many meatballs, and everything is up in the zone. Hitters just seem so comfortable with him and Garcia on the mound.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:35 AM) Thank God Ozzie keeps f***ing with the lineup since game 2 of the year so he can keep our guys rested for the playoff run. Any day now he will start to play the everyday guys. Any f***ing day now he will go for it. I can't wait for someone to say we're getting unlucky with injuries. If Neal's not careful, he might find himself as one of those lefty journeymen who spends a lot of time going back and forth from the minors to the majors, and vice versa.

What's astonishing to me is that we have everything in the world to play for, and teams like the Indians, KC, and DRays don't. However, we have absolutely no energy and look like we're playing not to lose. The other teams are so much more care free.

Hopefully Cotts can keep his ERA respectable so he'll have more trade value this offseason.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:31 AM) got that right. I'll be at the games, so bad posters like moi will be off the boards. Why in the world I bought tickets and booked a trip to the Bay in advance I'll never know. But I'm on the hook. To be honest, you're one of my favorite posters who I frequently get into debates with.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:30 AM) I came to the conclusion that Pods definitely is better than Grady Sizemore. I am now a good poster. Careful, you never know who is cherry-picking your posts to then make a definitive statement. If you're lucky, you'll get an LOL!

QUOTE(GOD @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:28 AM) Why is Sweeney pinch hitting with Crede and AJP on the bench? We're not playing for the win...nor should we be at this time.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:27 AM) Uribe and Anderson back to back is a toxic cocktail. The west coast trip will render that fact pointless. We'll be facing scrubs while they set their rotation for the playoffs. I'm eagerly looking forward to next week. It should be fascinating baseball. Hopefully, the good posters will come into the game threads, and the fair-weather fans will stay out.

Sweeney looked a little over-matched against that good fastball.

BTW...my quick calculations show we'll face Bonser, Santana, and Liriano in the final 3 games of the season if everything holds true to what we've heard.

I love that we're keeping Haeger in instead of getting guys like Cotts and Riske some work.

We're so well-coached. I'm not blaming Ozzie for that play. However, the lack of intensity and awareness by these players is sickening.

QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:02 AM) Fathom. I think Tejada is wearing down at short-stop. His range is much diminished and he has been erratic at the position. I envision a switch to 3rd base for him. Rollins? You betcha...I'd love to get a guy like that. I love Lugo's offense, but his defense sometimes isn't that good...although this year he really closed the gap on Uribe defensively and is way better offensively. I think in any deal involving a SS we'll deal one of our two prospects (Valido, Lopez) and one of our scrub pitchers. Lopez has no value, and Valido's stock can't get much lower than it is now. Remember that Ozzie wants to upgrade our speed, and there's not a lot of other positions we can do it at. I don't care if Tejada's range has diminished...his bat is good enough to make up for it. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 02:02 AM) I wonder why thome didn't homer on that pitch he normally would Cause I can't remember the last time he got a hit against a starting LHP.

QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:57 AM) I don't think either Pedro Lopez or Robert Valido are ready. Lopez is further up, but not considered as good as SS...there is always Valendia, but he's 32 years old I think. We are stunk with Uribe again next year unless we can make a deal to bring in someone. I think we need to upgrade at this position...we dont need .320/35/100 hitters, but the bottom of our order is littered with .230 I would LOVE for us to make a run at Tejada. However, I think names like Lugo or Rollins are more realistic.

QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:53 AM) glad to see charlie's made some real improvement since the last time we saw him. Didn't his numbers stink after he got sent back to AAA? QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:54 AM) Do knuckleballers have trade value? (this is a serious question) He could be a solid throw-in.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) This is a tryout for the rotation next season. A few Soxtalkers think this guy will be fine to fill in for Javy next season.... I don't want to ever see him be in the starting rotation. I'll be happy if we include him in a trade.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 01:51 AM) Uribe is worthless. People get on Anderson to learn how to hit. How about the guy who tells everyone before the game he is going deep, then spends the next 4 ABs spinning himself into the ground trying to make his prediction come true. What a worthless baseball player He makes Royce clayton look like a stud at the plate. Uribe doesn't even hit the ball hard anymore. It seems like every ball he hits into play is a weak pop up to the 2nd baseman. I miss the Uribe from a few years ago who would drive the ball to right field. For now, he's just another MLB player who lost his opposite field power after 2004.
