  1. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) Liriano got scratched for the Twins tomorrow night. He has a sore elbow. He's another pansy like Mark Prior.
  2. That a boy Sandy! Against a lefty, I actually have confidence he'll be able to find a hole in the outfield.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:18 AM) HULK HOGAN HULK HOGAN HULK HOGAN Sandy Alomar kinda reminds me of an aging wrestler.
  4. Well done Cintron! I can't remember the last time we got a bunt hit.
  5. Wow...some hard hit outs for us recently.
  6. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) How about a steal Pods? Against the lefty, I'd rather see Crede try to hit another extra base rocket.
  7. Ok...good job! MacDougal seems to induce a ton of grounders.
  8. Why not try a pitch out there? They had to know he was going first pitch. Oh well...get the batter.
  9. You can't walk him in that situation there. He's definitely going to be stealing here.
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:08 AM) A lot. Oh ya...I was just laughing that his slider is the same speed as Politte's fastball.
  11. MacDougal's slider reminds me of Politte's fastball....except MacDougal's pitch moves. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:07 AM) Its started off like Buerhle was going to get hammered again tonight, but he really picked it up. Another start like tonight and he may be back to normal. His next start is against the Yankees.
  12. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:05 AM) It was the right move, given Buehrle's confidence level. Yep, you know I like the idea of bringing in the reliever to start the inning (especially against some righty power hitters here). QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:05 AM) They let you keep the front row chairs, they're big bucks, so better get something. I didn't have to pay, but those seats are 750 dollars.
  13. Quick hook for Buehrle. You can't fault Ozzie for trying that.
  14. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:03 AM) Ya steal it? Nope, 3rd row seats for me at the event this year.
  15. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:03 AM) idon'tlikethisgamebeingsoclose... If Dye would have waited back a tenth of a second, it would have been 5-2.
  16. My greatest piece of wrestling memorabilia is a chair from WrestleMania this year. It really takes up a lot of useless room in my apartment.
  17. Our guys seem to keep getting banged up when they slide. I hope they're ok. Dye got some amazing pitches to hit.
  18. How did that ball go so far? Dye just got a MASSIVE hanger, just missed it.
  19. I like the strategy of putting Mackowiak in now, and leaving Pods for a possibly pinch-run situation later in the game.
  20. QUOTE(SadChiSoxFanOptimist @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 01:50 AM) With all due respect...BITE ME. Soxfan 101 and fellow critics: I've been a Sox fan since the early 60's. Like all you guys, I've.seen alot of baseball. I may have a different perspective than you and a posting manner that challenges the conventional wisdom of the blindly-loyal, self righteous Sox fans who may not be objective enough see a players strengths, weaknesses and impact on the collective capabily of the team. If you can't handle that and need to challenge my team affiliation or mental health, that's your problem, not mine. Frankly, I think a little diverse opinion makes for a more interesting discussion. This might be the first time that milkman and I were called blindly-loyal, homer Sox fans.
  21. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) I don't think they will but the answer is probably "someone with options left". I think I know who you're referring to. I can't wait for the September roster call-ups just to add a few pieces that can really help (more speed on bench, 3rd catcher, etc.).
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 01:52 AM) Ryan Howard hit his 36th tonight. Chase Utley extended his hit streak to 33 also. Hitting streaks are my favorite stat in sports....besides illegitimate kids per NBA player.
  23. Gload's looked 10 times more comfortable at 1B tonigt than he did over the wknd. Jim...if we decided to add another player, who would be the odd man out you think?
  24. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 01:49 AM) I believe he's referring to a short arm delivery. I see...thanks. I figured with his ERA, he was a gimmick pitcher.
  25. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 01:48 AM) KC had the IF halfway to cut off the run but you'd like to see Gload pull the ball there. Easier said than done though I suppose. The thing I've noticed about Gload is when he tries to pull it, he rolls over on it. He hits a lot more line drives to the opposite field. It's hard to get mad at a guy hitting a liner though.
