    Chicagosports.com is reporting that Willie Harris might be called up to play LF and leadoff. Good grief, that would be a disaster of a move. Harris is a terrible outfielder, and he's done nothing this season to deserve to be on the MLB roster. Please do something else KW!
  2. BTW, the best answer anyone could give to any debate with Griffey Jr. is this: Who gives a f***, just get him on the White Sox!
  3. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:17 AM) If Griffey thinks he's coming here to play CF most of the time, he's dense. He sees Frank is down and Aaron is a Gold Glove candidate. I have a hard time believing Jr. would be shocked and offended if he was the full-time DH if he accepted a trade here. There's not a manager in baseball who would play Everett in the field over Griffey Jr. Griffey Jr. on his worst night is better in the field than Everett is on his best night.
  4. Trust me, I'm not saying Griffey should be in CF over Rowand. However, how many times do you see a situation where a superstar is brought in, and he changes from the position where he was a star at for his entire career? It would be like acquiring Omar Vizquel, and we expected him to play 2b or 3b.
  5. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:13 AM) For those 2 weeks while Scotty is on the DL? FOR SURE. Defensively Griffey is far superior. However, that upgrade in LF does not justify the injury risk that there would be for those 2 weeks. Griffey would be brought here SOLELY because of his bat. To put that in jepardy would be a mistake. Everett isn't 100 pct in regards to running.
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:13 AM) Do you want to keep Griffey healthy? Almost every injury he has had is because of his defensive aggresiveness. Griffey Jr. is healthy right now, Everett isn't. I also think that Griffey Jr.'s pride might be serverly hurt if he becomes a DH.
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) If only I knew then about how raunchy Bushwhackers sounds?
  8. If he does require surgery in the offseason, would he be able to return for the season?
  9. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:10 AM) Cartoon TMNT? No clue, sorry.
  10. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:09 AM) I think KW would sit down and tell Griffey that he would DH 90% of the time with us. I would much rather see Everett in LF, Rowand in CF, and Griffey at DH while Scotty's on the DL for those 2 weeks. We don't need to push for anything, and Griffey's bat would be one of the most important things that this team would need come October. Everett in the field over Griffey Jr.? Are you nuts?
  11. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:07 AM) As I said above, wasn't a big fan of the plastic ones. Did you ever have one of the wrestling buddies? My brother has like 3 of them. His favorite song ever is Hogan's entrance music.
  12. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:07 AM) When I was a kid, Transformers were all the rage. Of course, as I do today, I went against the trend and collected Go-Bots. You know they're making a new Transformers movie? Also, there's another TMNT movie in the making, as well as a trilogy of Smurfs movies.
  13. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 02:04 AM) He's older and fragile....might be a better idea to have Rowand stay in CF. I agree with you....but that's not going to happen. I think KW and Ozzie would have an easier time telling Rowand to go to LF than they would a guy who's viewed as a HOF at the CF position.
  14. My favorite collection of toys is the professional wrestler figurines my brother has. The sad thing is that about half of them are dead now.
  15. Griffey Jr. would play CF, and Rowand would play LF. Griffey Jr. has played CF his entire career, while Rowand has a lot more experience playing LF.
  16. The only bad part about the Sox playing today: 2 hits for Timo in the leadoff spot equates to about 2 weeks worth of starts at the leadoff spot.
  17. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 12:19 AM) Was it officially postponed like MLB.com says or Cancelled like COmcast and NESN say... BIG DIFFERENCE!!! The game is postponed. From the sound of it, the game will be made up in early September.
  18. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 12:16 AM) Seriously, its not raining the tarp is OFF... what the f***!!! Maybe the field was too wet. If you remember Ozzie from last year's Cubs game, he despises having to play his guys on a wet field.
  19. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 12:01 AM) Ugh. That blows. Only 6 ahead for homefield, which as we saw this weekend, will be critical to have in the playoffs. That doesn't really concern me that much. We're not exactly playing stellar baseball at home.
  20. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) Mother f***ers, it can't rain yesterday when they are up but theres a torrential downpour when we are playing great. When's the last time the Sox caught a break with the rain, in regards to the outcome of the game? I can remember a few games the past few seasons where we were losing, and the game was called after 5 or 6 innings. Then, when we're finally winning, the game gets called.
  21. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) Postponed per Mlb.com Oh well. If this game ends up mattering at the end of the season, then there will be a lot more important games than this one.
  22. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 11:51 PM) just go out and play an inning jeeesh they have all week to fix up fenway Yep, and so would the doctors if one of the players go out there and break an ankle, etc. Maybe it's in our best interest to not finish this game, especially with the amount of work the bullpen would have to give.
  23. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 11:49 PM) More rain is forming right on Boston. Unless they want to wait 2 or 3 more hours, today's offensive explosion will not count. If today doesn't count, I will still be very pleased with what happened this entire week. A 12.5 lead in the division after playing at NYY and Boston, while Cleveland played KC and Tampa, is something to be happy about.
  24. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) so has it been officially called or still waiting? Still waiting. I think all optimism that this game will continue has left the building.
  25. Comcast just made it sound like Pods has been put on the DL. Probably just jumping the gun.
