  1. What cracks me up is when some posters get mad at guys like me, CyGarland, etc. who follow the scores of the Indians or Twins game.
  2. This is the Joel Pineiro game all over again.
  3. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:27 AM) Nothing like backing into the playoffs. Just hoping Cleveland keeps losing. Personally, I don't care what we do, as long as we make it. Not for one second have I thought we were 10 games better than any other team in the majors. It would take a total collapse not to make it, and if we don't make the playoffs, we don't deserve to make it.
  4. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) :fyou Stewart!! That wasn't a very difficult catch. Even that has-been Griffey Jr. could have caught that.
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:23 AM) Gooch is not hurt. Ozzie just is letting yesterdays reserves play today. They got cheated out of their game. Yep, Ozzie is clueless. Nothing like the first game of the Twins series to set the tone.
  6. What a terrible television angle!!! I thought that was gone for sure.
  7. Hawk's about an inning away from blaming the umps, isn't he?
  8. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) Now lets look at this the anti Ozzie way logically. Against Lohse Gooch is hitting .667. Lets not play him tonight. Arow is hitting .292. Bat him 7th. Perez and Uribe are a total of 0-13 lifetime. Lets bat them 1 and 2. Is Iguchi hurt? If not, I have one thing to say to the White Sox "Don't take you foot off the f***ing accelerator!" I get the bad feeling we're just sitting back and hoping we can coast the rest of the way without things getting tight.
  9. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) Thats' an understatement Yet we don't need Griffey Jr?
  10. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) seriously folks. this is not the Twins I know. I dont have the stat infron tof me, but the batting average is terrible with the bases loaded Thanks
  11. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:18 AM) This team has not been very enjoyable to watch lately. Outside of the Orioles series, they've been simply average since the Indians series after the ASB.
  12. Is this considered a Contreras meltdown?
  13. Our outfielders have been absolutely f***ing terrible at throwing guys out at home this year. By far, they've been the worse in baseball. Note to Contreras: throw your f***ing forkball, and not your slider all the time.
  14. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) Minny has possibly THE worst offense in the league! And that's with J. Jones out of the lineup, and the great Michael Ryan and his 1 for his last 30 in the lineup.
  15. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:16 AM) isn't this right about the time the count balks? Great, now you have me worried.
  16. Possibly the biggest out of the game here in Abernathy.
  17. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:14 AM) Boy it would have been nice to get that deal done for AJ Burnett. He just one his 6th straight and has looked dominating. There was never a chance of that deal happening, as Burnett had absolutely no desire of resigning with the Sox.
  18. Michael Ryan is now 2 for his last 31 with that hit. With those numbers, he belongs in our lineup.
  19. Where you at jphat? Trust me, I'm not happy about this or gloating.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) Minnesota has been one of the absolute worst offenses in the AL this second half. But they score 2. Will we score 2? We'll score 2...but they'll score more than 2.
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) He was awesome against Toronto, awesome against NYY, and has been good against Minny so far. He gave up some runs to a good hitting team in Baltimore and has one of our 2 wins against Boston. He's been great this year. A couple "meltdowns". I've been very happy with Contreras this year. However, he's given up 6 or more runs in 4 of his last 11 games. Thus, he's very capable of having disasterous innings. And just like that, there's 2 runs. He sucks out of the stretch, it's that simple.
  22. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:09 AM) bases loaded the Twins are terrible with the bases loaded you Sox fans should not worry Thanks
  23. Might as well just pitch from the wind-up here.
  24. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:07 AM) Your kidding right? See, these are the posts that piss me off from you. He hasn't given up a run in like 11 or 12 or 13 innings. He hasn't had a meltdown in forever. Yeah, he hasn't had a meltdown in what, 2 starts? When I talk about Contreras having a meltdown, I refer to him losing his mechanics when he's forced to pitch out of the stretch. He gives up a lot of big innings when he loses his release point out of the stretch.
  25. Get a grounder from Lecroy here, and you have a great shot at the double play.
