  1. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) There was a game when Hernandez got slapped around really bad that we had no chance in either. Which game, that Rangers game before he went on the DL? We were up 4-1 in that game, and had tied it up in the 8th on Iguchi's homer.
  2. Even though I'm supposed to be Mr. Asshole Negative Pessimist, I'm shocked at how many games we've actually had a chance to win. It's a great testament to our starting pitchers that we've been able to compete in so many games. The only game where we really seemed to have no chance to win was McCarthy's start in Texas. That's pretty amazing for this time of the season.
  3. QUOTE(Reddy @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) better than carlos' fielding... by far That's like comparing AJP's hitting with Sandy Alomar's hitting.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) He's been very good in left field this year but definitely has looked bad today in center though that ball over his head was a very tough play. I know Pods is the golden child for many Sox fans, but I've been less than impressed with him in the outfield this season. For someone with his speed, way too many bloopers fall in front of him.
  5. Our pathetic outfield has been in full display today. Pods is an awful centerfielder, as every Brewers fan has told us. Not only that, but Timo took about 3 steps before he threw that ball home. But, we have the best record in baseball and the greatest manager who has ever lived, so who am I to complain?
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Tought to tell if AJ tipped that pitch but one thing for sure, the White Sox have not gotten any of the close calls in this series. Not saying all the calls were wrong, just that the Sox haven't gotten them, strictly an observation. We rarely seem to get the benefit of the calls at home plate.
  7. Some type of smartball we saw there: - Harris can't get down a bunt - Our 3rd base coach sends a runner home when he's not even at the base and the RF, with a great arm, has the ball (thankfully he was barely safe) - A veteran player tries to go to 3rd on a routine grounder to the 3rd baseman.
  8. What a dumb f***ing play by Everett. Of course, it would have been avoided if PK didn't try to pull an offspeed pitch on the outside corner.
  9. We're the worst f***ing bunting team. After a while, we just need to let our guys swing away and stop playing for one run, and try to get a big inning.
  10. Gotta love Timo and Uribe trying to hit homers on the first pitch after Crede homers. Nothing like being easy outs at the plate.
  11. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) These game threads are depressing. I just think a lot of us are sick and tired of Ozzie's bulls*** managing with his 3rd game of the series lineup. Is it too much to ask for a legit lineup in the 3rd game of the series? Look around, you don't see the Twins, Padres, Yankees, etc. constantly benching three starters every 3rd game. There's a reason certain players aren't regular starters. If you don't think it have an impact on the team's mind-set, then you obviously never played sports (not saying you haven't, just a phrase).
  12. Let me ask the people in here this question: If I start a thread on the board about how I can't see how we'll stay in front of the Twins for the division, do you think people will go nuts against me? I'd even make a legit argument, but I have a feeling that the optimists won't be too happy.
  13. f*** you Ozzie and your little girlfriend. We deserve to lose this game. Far too often, we have to overcome our own manager's stupidity in order to win. Lets see the Ozzie apologists try to stick up for him after this debacle.
  14. QUOTE(tony72 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 08:32 PM) Freddy has been known to get hit early and then shut them down...and also this is not the Padres greatest pitcher..this game is still very winnable.. Lawrence isn't good at all, but against a team that can't hit offspeed pitches to save their lives, he's going to make us look like his b****.
  15. Don't worry, Twins are on their way to lighting up a pitcher they've never faced before. Lead will soon be down to 3.5.....super.
  16. All I know is something needs to be done about Uribe. He's been an absolute joke at the plate for far too long right now. If it was Crede that looked this bad, there would be a million threads about trading for someone irrational like Eric Chavez....oh wait, that's already happened.
  17. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) TIMO TIMO TIMO TIMO :puke As the founder of OMIT TIMO, I dislike him as much as anyone. However, if he's going to be playing, I'll root for him to hit a homer each time up.
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) Like I said, someone should hit Nevin and hard. He's too comfortable at the plate and he talks s***. Put one in his earhole. f*** him. We've been throwing Nevin offspeed pitch after offspeed pitch. It was just a matter of time before someone hung an offspeed pitch to him, and he was going to crush it. You're right, maybe an inside fastball might make him less comfortable at the plate.
  19. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) What's hilarious is that we do not even have a BP to go to right now WHo is going to pitch if Freddie has to be removed in the 1st or 2nd inning? Luis? Shingo? Cotts? Hermy cannot go much and he needs a rest, Marte is injured and Politte cannot be overworked as he is our only reliable pitcher The lack of flexibility we currently have on our roster is shocking.
  20. PK's lack of range at 1b didn't help us that inning. I'm completely convinced that in the team's best interest after this season, they don't even think about resigning him. Let him go and do his Rob Deer impression for someone else.
  21. Garcia having no confidence in his fastball allows the other teams to just sit on his offspeed s***.
  22. f***ing Garcia. Anyone who thinks this might help Garcia is ridiculous. You can't hang s*** like that to someone like Nevin. I swear that the 3rd game lineup really changes the mind-set of this team.
  23. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 08:20 PM) I wonder if Franks ankle isn't well enough yet to play defense...if Ozzie is going to give people work, I am kind of surprised Frank isn't playing first and sitting Paulie... Frank won't play an inning in the field this entire season. He said in the paper he doesn't want to risk reinjuring himself.
  24. Everett is going to give me a heart attack in the outfield.
  25. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) Why is Timo batting ahead of Uribe? Maybe Freddie should bat ahead of Uribe too then..... :banghead Right now, I wouldn't mind the pitcher batting in front of Uribe.
