  1. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 04:12 AM) Just tell me who you wanted to face Nevin. I'm curious. Buehrle, and only because of what had happened in the top of the 8th inning. But, who cares right now.....we have to shut the Padres down in the bottom of the 9th.
  2. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 04:09 AM) can i ask Some of you doubters a question why are you so upset???? we are winning..we have the best record in the bigs and you continue to rip ozzie and his moves..its getting really old The same thing was being asked of some of us before that debacle of a series against the Angels in regards to Ozzie's managing. Some of us just dislike the way Ozzie handles our bullpen, 3rd game lineups, etc. Doesn't mean that we don't root for the Sox as much, as less, or more than anyone else on this site.
  3. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 04:07 AM) Now Politte took care of the "Great" Phil Neven....now what are you guys going to cry about next?? Give it a rest already... Give what a rest? I honestly don't think any negativity I show on here is biased against Ozzie, Timo, etc. I have my own philosophies about how the bullpen should be used and what lineups we should stick with.
  4. Cotts will likely get the 9th. Klesko is much better against rhp than lhp.
  5. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 04:05 AM) Would you please url me to the post that you did that? Because right now, I find that hard to believe from you and ReinsdorfSucks. I'm too lazy to look for the posts, but I think some of the frequent visitors on here will pledge for me that I've even admitted Ozzie made the right move, even if it didn't work out. The ONLY problem I had with that decision was that if Ozzie was going to pull Buehrle in the 8th, he might as well have had someone hit for him in the 8th to try and get the insurance run.
  6. Great pitches by Politte there, especially not going with the fastball. Credit goes to Ozzie for making the right move.
  7. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 04:03 AM) Great your opinion has been established. You disagree with everything Ozzie does. Let's try to move on. Wow....thanks for your analysis. When Ozzie makes a move I agree with, I say that I like the move.
  8. Buehrle had Nevin on a string with his offspeed stuff all game. Nevin loves the fastball, and we bring in a fastball pitcher in Politte. Ozzie's putting his ass on the line with this move.
  9. Oh boy, Ozzie going to pull Buehrle? If so, that' awful managing. If you were going to play match-ups in the 8th, then Buehrle should have been pulled for a pitch-hitter in the 8th.
  10. Buehrle has to keep the ball down. He's narrowly escaped some big damage last few innings with pitches up in the zone.
  11. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:57 AM) Ok so who pitches the 9th? Hermy pitched last night, and hasn't been on fire lately. Let Buerhle finish it off. If Buehrle makes it out of this inning, his pitch count is going to be high.
  12. Buehrle doesn't seem to be fooling anyone now. Ozzie should get people up in the pen.
  13. You have to keep Buehrle in the game. It just would have been nice to see a little creativity from our manager. It doesn't surprise me that Cora was the one who put on the butcher-boy play with Politte. A squeeze play with Pods should have been implemented in that situation.
  14. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:54 AM) This is one of the few times this season I'm absolutely pissed off about a managing choice. That was just such a terrible call there. I'm fine with letting Buehrle hit, but what the f***? Bunting? What the f*** is the bunt supposed to do, move a runner over? And, bunting with two strikes?!?!?!?!?! Agreed, especially with Pods not exactly being a fly ball hitter. We had just as good of a chance scoring on a Buehrle double play as we did a Pods sac fly. And now, we just gave them all the f***ing momentum.....well done Ozzie!
  15. Swing the f***ing bat Pods! I'm sick of him taking called 3rd strikes.
  16. Not quite sure why Pods is trying to slap the ball with the infield in. He needs to be trying to hit a sac fly in this situation.
  17. Buehrle should have definitely been swinging with 2 strikes there. As Hawk said, you'll give up the 2 outs to get another insurance run. We need Pods to get the job done here.
  18. Gotta let Buehrle hit in this situation. He'll probably be bunting to get Crede into scoring position.
  19. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:47 AM) I also thought it was a tough call for their manager to lift the pitcher, for a 150+ hitter. My wife asked if he took advice from Ozzie! True, but in that situation, you need to go for it if you're the Padres. If the situation was reversed, I would have wanted Ozzie to have anyone hit for the pitcher, including TIMO!
  20. Holy cow, Uribe took a walk!!!!! Well done Juan.
  21. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:43 AM) You guys are hilarious. It's not like we've scored 6.3 runs per game in our last 10 or anything. 4 games (all of which we won) coming against guys we haven't seen or if we had seen him, not very much. I do appreciate the laugh track along with the game thread tho. We were playing in Colorado! Besides what has happened recently, my biggest concern about the Sox this year is that they've struggled against the top pitchers in baseball (Santana, Zambrano, Prior, C.C., etc.). If we want to ever go far in the playoffs (if we make it), we're going to have to hit better against the top pitchers.
  22. Ojeda seemed to "just miss that". Keep it up Buehrle!
  23. Interesting though that we intentionally walk the go-ahead run. That was a tough call for Ozzie, let's hope it was the right call.
  24. Nady scares me in this lineup about as much as anyone. Buehrle's going to have to make a good pitch to get him out. Cooper going out to the mound....hopefully not shades of Ozzie/Contreras, and McPherson.
  25. Ramon Hernandez seems like he always hits us hard. This is ridiculous though that Buehrle has to be almost perfect in order for the Sox to have a chance to win.
