Terrible AB by Everett there. It's up to Konerko now to get the runners in.

This is a situation where Everett has been having a difficult time getting the runner in this season. A simple fly ball should do the trick.

That was a beautiful bunt by Pods with Nomo on the mound.

I'm sure it's not accurate, but Cabrera on the Orioles just threw a fastball at 100 mph. We'll see him this wknd.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 9, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) Agreed. His hitting streak is over and his AVG is dropping fast. He's down to .270 now. The biggest problem I have is that the swing Crede is taking on these pitches is giving him absolutely no chance at getting a hit. He's dropping his hands a ton, and his entire body is basically getting underneath the ball.

I'm really sick and tired of seeing Crede continue to hit infield popups on low pitches. He does it about twice a game now, and it's just a terrible swing.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 9, 2005 -> 11:38 PM) Remember that walkoff homer in Oakland last year? I believe it was Erubiel Durazo, and DJ said he hadn't hit a homer since the previous September. Next pitch, gone. Not to sound like a jackass, but I'm pretty sure it was Kotsay vs Adkins.

QUOTE(BuehrleTheAce @ May 9, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) What did he say? I've got the TB broadcasters on MLB.com. Just talking about how they don't have a homer yet from the number 4 hole this year. Even Venture came out of his hole to tell him not to jinx the situation.

DJ playing with fire on that quote about the number 4 hitter for Tampa. Good job by Garcia overcoming the leadoff walk. Now, we need to continue to have quality ABs vs Nomo.

I'll say it right now: We can't let Huff beat us like Sweeney does for KC. He's easily their most dangerous hitter.

Good pitching by Garcia there to K Lugo. A good throw by A.J. would have had Sanchez out easily at 2nd.

Garcia missed all 4 of those pitches by two feet. Not a promising start.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 9, 2005 -> 11:25 PM) How the hell did that ball NOT leave? My thought also. The LF seemed to be going back on the ball like it was out. I was hoping maybe it would hit the catwalk.

Need Garcia to go out and shut them down this inning.

We really have to stop giving up outs on the bases. Good job by PK getting the runner in there though.

Very good baserunning by Iguchi there. A ton of runners would have rounded 3rd, and been fooled by that fake.

Game Thread 5-9-2005 Sox .vs. Rays
That was just nasty by Iguchi right there. 32 game streak for the Sox leading now!

Any word on lineups for tonight? I have a feeling Ozzie is going to have to resist the urge to start Timo.

Kevin Walker & Harris recalled; Lopez, Burke down
I like the idea of bringing up Walker for the Tampa series. They have a few dangerous lefty hitters, and we can use Walker to get one out hopefully.

Zaun update thread
Just so people know, giving oxygen to a player in that situation is a common practice. If there was a neck injury suffered by Zaun, the personnel on the field took way too long getting him immobilized and into the ambulance. High dose steroids needs to be given as soon as possible in severe situations. Hopefully, it's just a concussion (even though that's bad enough).

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Donn Pall has the greatest record in the history of broadcasters for his team!

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ May 8, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) WHITE SOX WINNER!!!! And Ditto Jabroni's comments. You can't blame it on Marte coming in, that's absolutely stupid... Wow, all I was saying was that if Hermanson stayed in like we wanted, then who the hell knows what would have happened. Would that play have likely happened if Hermanson was still in? You never know. It's not like I'm blaming Marte for it happening.
-
Game Thread 5-8-2005 Sox vs Blueballs er Jays
Really wish Hermanson would have been left in to close this game. Very likely the Zaun thing wouldn't have happened than also.
-
Game Thread 5-8-2005 Sox vs Blueballs er Jays
Damn! Marte just rolled that one up to the plate.

QUOTE(Reddy @ May 8, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) not necessarily... if it were life threatening they still wouldnt want to move him without immobilizing his neck/head etc etc Yeah, I was just relaying what a doctor had just told me about the situation. This s*** scares me, especially after the AFL player died last month.
