I've had enough of Dye. His attitude is absolutely awful right now. With a righty batting after Singleton, I wouldn't have minded seeing Garcia go around Singleton to face Toby Hall.

Another stupid 2 strike slider to a guy who hadn't proven he could touch a Garcia fastball. Sox deserve to lose this game with their stupid decision making and execution.

Garcia has got to be careful with Huff here. Also, has anyone noticed Dye's lack of hustle in the outfield tonight? He almost allowed Hollins to score on Singleton's hit because he seemed to take forever getting to the ball. Also, that Crawford hit went a little longer than I think Dye thought it would.

Crede has to be swinging on that pitch. He was in protect mode, and swung at pitches that were much worse than that. Another chance blown there. Garcia has his work cut out for him this inning.

Crede's swing on the 2-1 pitch before was very strange. He was under it by like a foot.

Terrible f***ing swing by Dye. All three of his at-bats have been awful tonight. BTW, Konerko almost hurt his hamstring by overextending when he reached first base before.

Now, I'm sure Dye wont be bunting here. He's had two bad AB tonight. Hopefully, he'll drive the ball here.

Konerko's lucky he didn't hurt his hamstring there.

QUOTE(Brian @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) Just got home guys, but heard the 3rd inning on the radio. Anyone else questioning the sac bunt by Iguchi? We are up 2, why not play for the big inning? Instead we have our hottest hitter bunt, and we end up getting nothing. Oh well. Hopefully Sox hold on and I look dumb...no jokes plz. I'm not a fan of smallball, but it was the right move having Iguchi bunt. The move would have paid off with an easy run if Everett would step his game up. Everett and Rowand had two pathetic ABs in that inning.

Good inning for Garcia. Orioles are up 3-0 in the 6th. D. Cabrera looks phenomenal tonight.

Easy inning for Nomo there. Too many bad AB by Sox hitters vs Nomo tonight. Hopefully, Garcia can shut down TB the rest of the way.
-
Game Thread 5-9-2005 Sox .vs. Rays
We let Nomo off the hook it seems like. Now, he's in a groove, and Sox hitters are in-between on swinging or taking pitches.

2-1 after 4. We need to score some more runs, especially with Tampa's ability to steal bases at will.

Crap. Bad pitch by Garcia there to Singleton. Singleton has a slider speed bat, and that's exactly what he got on that pitch.

Game Thread 5-9-2005 Sox .vs. Rays
Not the person Garcia wanted to let get on to start this inning. He'll have his work cut out for him to get out of it without allowing a run.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) Piazza just hit a 3-run homer off of Leicester in the 1st inning of the Flubs game. The ball was literally right down the middle. 3-0 Mets. Piazza's homer was a rocket. That was a horrendous pitch by Leicester. I really like the Mets lineup with everyone back and healthy.

Crede is so dangerous when he doesn't try to hit the ball in the air. Good AB by Crede.

Terrible patience showed by Dye tonight. I hope we don't just settle for our 2 runs scored, and try to win 2-1.

Game Thread 5-9-2005 Sox .vs. Rays
We're a terrible team at holding on runners besides Buehrle. We also never do any pitch-outs in obvious run situations.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:06 AM) DP!!! Good pitch by Garcia there to get the DP. Good try by Iguchi there.

Game Thread 5-9-2005 Sox .vs. Rays
It was clearly the right call to have Iguchi bunt. If your 3-4 hitters can't get the guy in from 3rd, that's their fault. Iguchi hits a lot of grounders, so he's a threat to hit into a DP in that situation.

Game Thread 5-9-2005 Sox .vs. Rays
Seems like we gave Tampa some momentum now. Garcia needs to keep his pitches down.
-
Game Thread 5-9-2005 Sox .vs. Rays
Everett has got to stop swinging at every single pitch. He's getting himself in a poor hitter's count almost every time up now. It's ironic that he took a called 3rd, I guess.

Horrific AB by Rowand there. Big opportunity blown there by Everett and Rowand.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 9, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) Wow, Carl has been bad recently, especially in this kind of situation. Carl's eye at the plate has been brutal lately.
