  1. Zambrano just did a fist pump celebration after striking out Iguchi. Guess that gives Tadahito the right to deck him.
  2. Obviously, Baker was merely stating that he himself did not see any punches thrown, not that there were no punches thrown at all. I can't say I'm a fan of that banner.
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 20, 2006 -> 07:33 PM) The results? The Cubs will still f***ing suck, their team and fans are still a waste of space and not worthy of breathing, and we are still the best team in baseball. And when we sweep these f***s tomorrow, I'll be feeling even better about it than I would have been. That's about it.
  4. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2006 -> 09:33 PM) Because he's AJ Pierzynski. Honestly, that's the best answer I can come up with. Agreed. I can honestly guarentee that if it was anyone else doing the railroading, Barett wouldn't throw any punches and it would just be an ordinary play. But because it's A.J. Pierzysnki (who only deserves about a third of the flak he receives), it must be a dirty play. And I can't help but love Rich Hill and other Cub people who claim that Pierzynski could have and should have slid. He had no sliding lane and Barett was _right_there, but apparently they believe A.J. is Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four and is capable of stretching his body in a C around Barret.
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 20, 2006 -> 09:36 PM) Plus, there's no way Barrett saw the plate smack. He was on his back, and he said he didn't see it himself. Very true. I forgot about this. This leaves Barett and Cub fans with... zero excuses and rationalizations. I hope Barret gets fifteen games. What a douche. Completely unsportsmanlike.
  6. Brantley just made a great point on BBTN that refutes the whole arguement that Cubs fans seem to be using frequently: A.J. provoked the fight by slapping the plate hard and therefore Barret's punch was justified. If Barret had caught the ball and tagged AJ out, surely he would have fist-pumped or spiked the ball while walking to the dugout. Would that give A.J. the right to hit Barret? Small celebrations like that are part of the game.
  7. Man, I can't wait until tomorrow. Only twenty hours left...
  8. QUOTE(G&T @ May 20, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) So the Cubs would lose another of their top hitters, hilarious. With Barrett gone for at least 10 games or so, that leaves the Cubs with... zero competent hitters.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ May 20, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Um....the first baseman was off the bag on that play. I noticed that too, missed call right there.
  10. LOL @ the Cubs. They are so pathetic. What sore losers.
