  1. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 05:26 PM) LMAO, Im watching the intro to the Cubs game and Stockton starts off by saying "To say this isnt a big game would be an understudy." I caught that too. Pretty hilarious.
  2. Big win for the Dodgers. Tough loss for the Cubs, because losing the first game in a five-game series puts you in a huge hole. The series now plays like a four-game set and the Cubs would have to win three.
  3. Dodgers load the bases, but with 2 outs. Dempster with over 100 pitches.
  4. Ugh, Dodgers making a ton of outs on 3-1 counts. Tie it, Manny.
  5. Soriano hopping as he catches a routine flyball. What a hot dog.
  6. Terrible AB by Ethier. Could have walked in a run.
  7. LMAO @ Cole Hamels' voice. Ridiculously high and squeaky for such a tall guy.
  8. When your team isn't playing, these low-scoring NL games are a bit of a snoozer.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 03:36 PM) Yeah, seriously, how are people not completely over the 2 good impressions he has? He continues to add impressions, but they are terrible. Madden Bush That's it. His Al Pacino in particular is brutal.
  10. Not to beat a dead horse, but I want to kill Frank Caliendo.
  11. I would be all for this. Give one of your better hitters more ABs.
  12. Cole Hamels dealin'. Perfect so far. Two huge defensive blunders by Weeks and Cameron. Should be 0-0.
  13. Swisher over Wise in left, because Wise is not a major league baseball player. He got a lucky grand slam against Detroit, and all of the sudden he's a fixture in the lineup? There's a reason why he's a 30 year old journeyman outfielder who couldn't find a job in the spring. He hasn't had produced for a couple of weeks now and is a complete cipher in the 2 hole, posting a sub-300 OBP. Ozzie starting him in such important games is, quite frankly, ludicrous. Swisher, in contrast, is a proven major leaguer who is every bit as good defensively and offensively is capable of taking pitches, drawing walks, and occasionally hitting a homer.
  14. QUOTE (greasywheels121 @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 07:53 AM) Apparently I'm the only one that didn't have a problem with the telecast or Harold Reynolds. I love HR. I didn't have a problem with Reynolds either, but, then again, I was mostly paying attention to Soxtalk in between pitches. What did he say? I know he was gushing over Torii Hunter for one inning, but I don't think that constitutes a Twins bias. Also, Dick Stockton made a ton of mistakes. I take it baseball is not his primary sport? Or maybe he just had a few senior moments. The only thing that annoyed me was that the statlines showed nothing but batting average. Heaven forbid we can get HR and RBI, much less OBP and SLG. But overall, good broadcast. The pregame with Eck and Ripken was cool, and the whole presentation felt very crisp.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 04:46 AM) http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y115/knig...ff/aldswall.jpg You sir are awesome.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 1, 2008 -> 12:41 AM) Javy has got to step up and produce at some point. I strangely feel really good about this game. I too think Javy knows he has something to prove.
  17. One thing. If Ozzie continues to play Wise over Swisher, I'm going to be pissed. DeWaynne Wise is not a major league starter. He is, in fact, terrible, and has been a complete cipher in the two hole for quite a while now. Swisher at least knows how to take a lot of pitches, draw a walk, and can occasionally hit one out.
  18. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 11:49 PM) I still haven't wrapped my head around what Danks actually did tonight. Incredible. Ditto. I think John Danks is a very good pitcher, but if you were to have told me before the game he would throw eight shutout innings on three days rest, I would have laughed in your face.
  19. Pujols is having a Ted Williams-esque season this year.
  20. The experts at BBTN just unanimously picked the Rays in this series.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 30, 2008 -> 09:33 PM) Longest 2 days ever. At least there will be an assload of playoff baseball tomorrow to watch.
  22. Before tonight's game, I told myself that I would be more than happy with a Central division championship and a playoff berth. But **** that, let's do this. Bring on Tampa.
