  1. Seems like Dye is pouting all the time that MB got an offer and he did not.
  2. QUOTE(Craig Grebeck @ Jul 6, 2007 -> 07:22 PM) Oh, please. One bad pitch. You already had your f***ing mind made up about Gavin before he started tonight. You sure can cut and paste.
  3. Sox are stuck with him now.
  4. Only Sox could score a weeks worth of runs in one game and still lose by 6.
  5. Soxtalk I have loved this site since 2003.
  6. No need to see him again in 2007!
  7. Good job. I really like Olsen. Bears have been very proactive in getting all but 1 2007 under contract before camp.I expect the 2nd round pick to be signed very soon.
  8. QUOTE(Drew @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 12:49 AM) Ridiculous. Nickel-and-diming your franchise player out of town. Can't say I haven't seen Reinsdorf do this before, though. I agree................JR still acting like a small market team If he has such a problem it really is time for him to sell.
  9. They were protecting Mr. Kennedy tonight he must need a little more time to heal.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 10:29 PM) You're not going to attract quality free agents unless you give them some sort of NTC. I really am puzzled as to how the Sox are expecting to add talent to the organization besides for trying to develop young guys. They are not going attract alot living in the Bill Wirtz way of contracts of yesteryear.
  11. QUOTE(Phil McKrevice @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 10:12 PM) No way Sox recover from this loss. What a great way to send off Buehrle. It was over way before tonight.
  12. I would not give him away but would listen to offers.
  13. Pods can stay on DL make it 60 days he will get hurt again anyway!
  14. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 2, 2007 -> 12:44 PM) Michael (Dallas): Regarding the Dodgers, do you think Kemp is enough to pry Buehrle away? Is it worth if for LA? Thanks. SportsNation Buster Olney: (1:22 PM ET ) Michael: If the White Sox get Matt Kemp for Buehrle, that's a pretty good deal for a rent-a-player (for Chicago). Talked to about 10 people in the game over the last 24 hours and not one of them -- not one -- thinks the White Sox are making the right call by refusing to give Buehrle the no-trade clause. Given what the market is for pitching, four years and $56 million is an incredible bargain, and they should just give him the no-trade clause, or come up with some way around this sticking point (like guaranteeing a $5 million bonus if he's traded, or something like that). JR and KW thinking on the NTC clause is this case makes them look cheap and stupid. The NTC is the tradeoff for the lower than market value deal MB is willing to take.
  15. The White Sox informed the Chicago Sun-Times today that Jose Contreras's no-trade clause actually ran out in November of 2006. So much for Contreras waiving anything. Joe Cowley says the Mets, Braves, and Dodgers are all interested. I wouldn't be shocked to see Kenny Williams deal Buehrle and anothe starter. He could deal Buehrle for a top position player prospect, and then swap Contreras or Javier Vazquez for a younger starter. It will be tough for KW to sit back and close up shop on starters after making a Buehrle trade. A Buehrle trade may only increase the desperation of the remaining clubs. Williams might still have the best available starter in his stable, if the competition is Matt Morris and Jason Jennings.
  16. Pods "My ribs hurt I am leaving the game today after 1 inning, I love the DL!"
  17. The go to drink beer and look at girls in tube tops, it is certainly not the winning tradition!
  18. Now Bonds wants to talk, I have no reason to watch the Bonds lovefest night so I won't!
