  1. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Jun 11, 2014 -> 07:40 PM) I wish Hawk would stop trying so hard... That's what I think. Not a fan of the it.
  2. Defense got lucky. De Aza at his finest.

  4. GOP wanting to take money from Post Office and use to put into highway fund. This makes no sense at all, Post Office gets no tax dollars nothing but a short term shell game.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 11, 2014 -> 10:47 AM) Rodon's pitching coach interview http://thegamechicago.com/2014/06/10/tom-h.../#axzz34JzjyzDH Thanks for the link.

    QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 8, 2014 -> 04:54 PM) I've watched 4. Not as great as 1st season but good enough where I'll be done in a week or so. Seems like it's totally ensemble instead of Piper being main character. Finished season 2 tonight since Sox got rained out I enjoyed it.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 10, 2014 -> 08:23 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN 1h Per Avisail Garcia, he said in late May hadn't given up hope on 2014. Told today he's still out for season. http://bit.ly/1oby7nF I am looking forward to a 100% healthy Avisail in 2015, no reason to play again in 2014.
  8. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jun 10, 2014 -> 04:06 PM) I'm guessing Rodon's family isn't going to be very happy if he misses a half yea of development in arguably the single best org for pitching development because of 500k either way. 6 million will be chump change if he's signing a pre FA deal with the Sox before he turns 25. It will be interesting how it plays out because Bor-ASS is the wildcard in this deal.
  9. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Jun 10, 2014 -> 03:04 PM) No way. He either gets above slot money or he gets the fast track. Absolutely no reason to give him both. Considering the way he was used this season, I imagine that his workload will be relatively light the rest of the year. They may pitch him a couple innings out of the bullpen every fifth day to keep him on schedule and limit his innings. There is no reason to start his arb clock and go over slot in the same deal as that will cost the Sox a lot more money down the road if Rodon meets his potential. I think the goal should be to have him ready for opening day 2016 so that the Sox can control his rights through their window of contention in 2016-2019. Its either $5.5M and a callup or $6M+ and you keep him in the minors until he is ready. Getting him to go underslot at $5.5 likely allows you to sign BODM which is probably worth letting Rodon getting to arbitration a year earlier. We can debate all we want Bor-ASS will want both IMO.
  10. Former Cy Young winner Bob Welch dead at 57.........way too young. He was awesome with the A's
  11. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Jun 10, 2014 -> 02:05 PM) I think it's $6.6 - 6.7M. Sox cap it around there & say "Okay we'll pay you as the best player in the draft, now sign & if you do well you'll see the bigs this year and start your clock." And that will be too good to pass up, because taking it all the way to the deadline makes it harder to get more than a couple MLB appearances before the end of the year. As it is, he signs quick, maybe he's here Sept. 1 after rosters expand. That's a whole month plus probably of MLB time & experience. I am hoping 6.3M will get deal done with August bullpen call up. I think that is very fair for Bor-ASS and Rodon. I have a feeling Bor-ASS will want to wait until Kolek deal at #2 is done.
  12. Verlander has been struggling lately lets keep it that way tonight.
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 10:45 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...-174434210.html Greg, is that you? JK. Dear Lord
  14. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 10:42 PM) Flowers has looked bad, maybe we they should split 50/50 from here on out. I wish that would happen need to see more Nieto anyway.
  15. Glad to beat Detroit any how any way.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 09:59 PM) Can you believe all the Hawks had to do was win a Game 7 at home and another Cup would have been Chicago's? Amazing. The Hawks would have clowned the Rangers. Makes game 7 loss even tougher, the Eastern Conference is weak sauce.
  17. Sox win 6-5 even with 5 outs in the 9th.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2014 -> 10:21 PM) What's wrong with Bella fastball tonite?! It's not fast. Not facing the Dodgers no extra energy.
