Sox vs. Indians...Anthony John Walkoff
southsideirish71 replied to Gregory Pratt's topic in 2006 Season in Review
QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:48 PM) Sweeny wants his first HR and GS Now you sound like our hitting coach. We want him to get a single. Keep the line moving. If he pitches you in, pull it, if he pitches you away hit it up the middle or the other way. Going up there and thinking dong sounds too much like what we have seen since the ASB. -

QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:43 PM) well he got a hit, but.... He basically has to pull it where they arent right now. He cant help himself but to pull everything. Next pull monkey up with the bases stacked. All we need is a single. -

QUOTE(beautox @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) s***!...he was out front trying to pull.... and he is 0-2 trying to pull that pitch. His only hope is that he pulls it somewhere where no one is. -

I hope the first order of business this offseason is the firing of Cora and Walker. -

Thats ballgame with our medicore offense. Kong pull ball, AJ pull ball. Everyone pull ball. Thank god we gave a 3 year deal to Walker. -
Zito is a flyball pitcher, at the cell it would be disaster. KW should be trying to accquire either sinkerball types, or strike out stuff guys if the cell is going to stay the way it is. We should at least try and start to take those types of arms in the draft for the next few years. We have our 2 safe guys now, Broadway and McCulloch. We can now start to go after stuff guys, guys who project better than 4th or 5th starter.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) Why do we have to rip on everyone.. even when he puts up career numbers for his third straight year. I mean he is only tenth the AL in rbi's and slugging. He is not one of our problems... believe it or not. Gload for konerko? You gain zero. If we get ballsy and put gload out in left for podsednik... Its called benching him for a night. How is that so out of order. Giving a guy who has been dragging for the last week or so, a night off to get his mental and physical approach together.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 12:00 AM) This comming from the guy who's never seen a negative Buehrle thread, you can't be all that perceptive then. The continuing decline of Mark Buerhle monster thread that pops up yearly like clockwork doesnt ring a bell do this guy. LOL

QUOTE(WCSox @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 06:35 PM) You're the one who needs to "get a clue" because I never said that last year's offense was "good in any way, shape or form." I said that Pods' ability to steal bases helped a team with a laughably-low OBP manufacture runs. Is that not accuate? Grow up. There's no denying that. Pods' ability to distract pitchers while on base also played a role. Our offense was downright rotten for most of the year last year. The only time our offense clicked was in June/July and for 2 weeks in the playoffs. The rest of the year our offense was amost unbearable to watch. Remember Dye and Konerko hitting like they didnt know how to hit. Remember August. Remember Everett and his slow bat so bad towards the end we replaced him right before the playoffs started. Remember Timo at 1st base, remember Timo as a DH. OUr offense was near the bottom in singles, in OBP, in doubles, in triples. We did one thing and one thing only, and that was hit the pretty white ball over the fence.

The funniest PFB call in of the year bar none. The guy said since the sox plays in New York that we look like a "bunch of morons trying to hump a doorknob."

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 10:13 PM) I hate not being excited to go to games. I will be at the next 3..... I have 2 more games on my Ozzie plan, Saturday against CC Fatabia and then Detroit. Yikes. Maybe we can have Uribe play winter ball so he can get more ABs and get better. He is currently hitting 1 freakin point higher than the guy everyone calls out as being so bad in the field we need to platoon him with something. Uribes BA .232 Andersons .231

Maybe we can get Cerrano to come down to the dugout and wake up the bats. You can tell classic whitesox corpseball, when some bum is no hitting you past the 4th inning. Someone needs to tell Paulie that the pitchers will stop feeding him low and away crap the minute he proves he can take it the other way. Hearing Farmer say that when Konerko is right, he takes what is given to him and hits the away pitch hard to right. And then watching him right after that attempt to pull pitch after pitch low and away. Either he is too stubborn, or doesnt pick up on things all that quick. Maybe its time to bench Mr Kong for a night and put in Gload.
-
Bench Brian he hit the ball like a sissy, back up the middle. He didnt even attempt to elevate it. Thank God ozzie let Grandpoopers Alomar bat there in the 9th. Chris Stewart probably couldnt use a nice AB in a blowout loss to break him in.
-
Mack following the gameplan. Turn and burn.
-
A few bloops, and a blast, and a few more bloops and another blast and we can win it. Grinder rule number -89: You cant hit home runs, unless you swing for them. Grinder rule number -40: Hitting the other way is for sissies. Grinder rule number -70: Our backups have more ABs than some of your starters.
-
Oddly these were from last year ... they seem to fit once again this year. Pretty much our offense goes into slumber in the 2nd half.
-
Konerko has completely forgotten how to hit again with men on. the C on his chest should stand for Choke.
-
Thome is homer or famine. Now here comes a feast of low and away stuff to a guy who still hasnt figured out that they are pitching him this way.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 7, 2006 -> 09:48 PM) And that's all Ozzie's fault. Do you honestly think Buehrle would have given up those runs if jerry manuel was still the manager?? Sleep the bench players would of creeped out only on Sundays if Manuel was here. As bad as our pitching has been, playing our starters less than 25% of the time is baseball retarded. I hated Manuel and didnt like that he basically was giving up once a week. Then Ozzie made it more like 3 times a week.

All of the indians hits were duck snorts and lucky hits. The homers were due to a cyclovortex devilwinds that blow from time to time when our pitching happens to throw. The umps are screwing us because of jealousy of the best manager in the game, our hitting guru is just one adustment away from having this team go on a legendary run of unpresidented offense, and Cooper is like the dog whisperer and will chant into the arms and no hitters are a coming. We are going to win at least 20 in a row its coming. Now am I a good poster now.

I wonder if any of this can help our confidence, Because according to PFB confidence is all we need and all that is holding us back.
