  1. From the Southtown Home boys Hunter had a ninth-inning at-bat after the collision, but figured it was very unlikely he would get beaned in retaliation with reliever Mike Jackson on the mound for the Sox. The two were good friends as teammates in Minnesota in 2002. "I probably would have cracked up laughing, because he's like my boy, you know," Hunter said when asked what his reaction would have been if Jackson had thrown at him. Jackson, by contrast, became upset when asked about the topic. "If fans think I should have hit him, you tell them to come get on the mound," Jackson told one reporter.
  2. Our hitters do have the ability to hit to all fields. However they are mentally challenged and these dogs will not change. We have been through 3 hitting coaches who have all attempted the same thing. Have them use the entire field. I dont understand Uribe. I mean most hitters review tape and try to figure out what they are doing when they are in a slump. Konerko watched tape after tape and did hard work last year to get out of the slump. Uribe steps in the bucket now to cheat on the fastball in so he can hit it for power. I have no faith that he will fix it this year, he is a mental midget. Who remembers Olivo resting his bat on his shoulder all of last year. It took winter ball to fix that. Valentin needs to go away. I know we all love his long home runs. But I never thought I would see a .239 hitters with almost 100 Ks hitting in the two hole. Long looping swings, cheating on the fastball in, rolling their wrists over on the fastball away. Corpseball the 2004 edition. Maybe at the end of the year press conference he can talk about grinders again. And then lock up grinder valentin and his 239 average for another year. We need hitters more on the side of the .280 mark instead of hitters towards the .250 mark.
  3. Carlos is still waiting for something inside he can drive. It isnt going to be there Carlos start to think about hitting to the opposite field. Stubborn meatheads. It isnt going to be there tonight. You have to adjust to what the pitcher is throwing. The scouting report on the sox probably reads. Throw away consistantly with soft tossing pitchers. Selfish hitters will try to hit home runs on outside pitch. You will get a 4 hitter if you do this.
  4. Lets see Radke is consistantly throwing on the outside corner, probably like 80 percent of the time. Our hitters are still trying to pull the pitch on the outside corner and are popping up and grounding out. Maybe the 4th time through the order they will figure it out. Every pitcher that has made us look silly this year has done the same thing, spot the fastball on the outside corner. Our pull only hitters cannot react and are only looking for a pitch center in to drive. We are getting 3 hit because our hitters are stubborn and cant think at times.
  5. We dont need another power hitter who hits .250. We have plenty of those. Lets get Frank Catalanotto. He is hitting .335. We need someone that can get on and move the train along on the basepaths. Not another power hitter who will K or hit the dong.
  6. TIME TO MAKE A MOVE KENNY Lets get Frank Catalanotto. He can play OF, DH and is cheap.
  7. The only difference is that I was actually born in Ireland. So I am probably the only Irish guy. I have been a regular on the ESPN boards for a while now. However that board is unusable now. This board is going to get a lot more traffic after the ESPN crap. :fthecubs
  8. Well it wouldnt be a ESPN reunion without me. The new boards are terrible on ESPN. And a certain sabermetrics board troll hasnt figured this out yet. Sup Ugly. :fthecubs
