  1. 6 earned for Jose. Glad we left him in to start this inning. f*** Unless he dominates his next 2 starts, he shouldnt start the allstar game. Santana deserves it more.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:52 PM) When I hear the words in shambles I think of this: I think you and I have much different definitions. PIC WHORE
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:48 PM) Did we get back underway again? Yes, and widger has a positive. He threw someone out.
  4. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) The equation is a simple one: Widger's game calling ability + Contreras feeble mindset = meltdown. The sad thing is that AJ hits lefties better than Widger. Widger is a .212 hitter against lefties on the season. Too bad AJ isnt a robot.
  5. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Absolutely not - he should've been pulled for sure. I think Count's streak was in play on that decision and it should not have been. We have to stop putting the good of the team over someones personal accomplishments. We let Mike Jackson get decked night after night in 03 or 04 because he was coming close to some useless record for appearances. Its not like we are up on the division by 15 games. If we win the first 2 games of a series, we need to pull out the stops and win the last game. Especially against the worst teams in baseball.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) *shudder* stop that nonsense right now... Miggy called such a bad game that the pitchers probably didnt like pitching to him.
  7. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:31 PM) Yeah, its not entirely Widger's fault, but it seems like whenever he's behind the plate the Sox lose or pitch like ass You take out AJ's bat and his hustle and grit, and then his game calling. And replace it with someone who isnt hitting well, and doesnt call a game that well.
  8. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Sox are still getting on base and swinging the bats - I'd be very surprised if they were done scoring for the day. Besides the, well we will rally. Do you think it was the right decision not to pinch hit for Contreras down by a run, with a man on 2nd and 1 out when we are in the 6th inning with rain on the way.
  9. If Jose goes to the bump after this delay, then I am convinced that we had no intention of competing today.
  10. Well this decision to leave Jose in, is working well for us. Rain delay. Sweet.
  11. Count walks a guy, now he is 3-0 on this hitter. Great that we let him hit in the previous inning.
  12. Now the pitchers spot comes up for the Pirates, and they pinch hit with one out and no one on. We have a man on 2nd, and 1 out, and we let our AL pitcher swing away. Cute.
  13. We need to tie the game, we have a man at 2nd, yet Contreras who cant hit and hasnt pitched well gets to bat. He of course is meat. Dumb.
  14. QUOTE(Allsox @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) Ahh, I didn't know it was Widger's responsibility to make sure the pitchers ALWAYS hit their location. Didn't know AJ has the same magic ability. :headshake Does everyone forget the fact Ozzie's the one calling pitches for both AJ and Widge?!? And can anyone on the board EVER give credit to the opposing team for going with the pitches and getting hits?!? Actually AJ on the Mike North show has said that he and Widger call all the pitches. That they look over for if a pitch out is being called.
  15. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:06 PM) They are just finding all the holes today. Nothing you can do about it. Was bound to happen to Jose at some point. Kinda funny that his longest winning streak is going against their longest losing streak. Fitting I guess. Sure, thats what it is. The worst team in one of the worst divisions in baseball puts a 5 spot on your ACE and a few words about karma and its a wash. How about Widger moves around a bit behind the dish. You know we can throw inside pitches. How about Conteras starts to pitch ahead of a batter or 2. This is the pirates, you can quote me how great they are in the NL at home where they face the cubs 19 times and the rest of their terrible division. We need to win this game. This is sad that we are in this position. These are the games you cannot lose.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 01:02 PM) I think we know the answer to that one. This is one of the worst starts of the year by any of our pitchers, all things considered. I wouldnt go that far. There have been too many Judy and Vazquez blow ups this year for Contreras to take that cake.
  17. QUOTE(Allsox @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) And it also seems he catches good ones as well. He caught Buehrle's 1:30 shut out last yr and the pitchers don't have a problem throwing to him. Christ, a pitcher has some bad luck and people wish to throw Widge right under the bus cuz it's all his fault. :headshake That was last year. Last year Politte was unstopable. Baseball is a year to year game. You can count the number of good starts with Widger behind the dish on your hand this year. Do you think he calls a good game, by setting up on the outside corner and not moving.
  18. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) Juan isn't an auto out lately. But is Widger right now. And another rally killed.
  19. Crede needs to come through here before the crap part of our order comes up.
  20. The sox should get one of these, paint it black and silver and put it on the outside corner so Widge can get oh so comfy.
  21. Uribe with some special baserunning. He should be at third, however loves 2nd so much.
  22. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 12:41 PM) I'll pass. Widge plays once a week at most. Someone just needs to have a f***ing chat with him, and tell him to fold up the chair on the outside corner, and move back and forth a bit. Some inside pitches would do his CERA wonders.
