QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 08:47 PM) For people complaining about Vazquez not throwing enough fastballs: First, his fastball is 92 mph, and not what this gun says. Second, his fastball, especially to lefties, is notorious for ending up very deep in the stands. From my perspective, his slider and his change are his out pitches. His fastball and curve get hit very hard. He is throwing a 4 seamer that is getting pounded. I havent seen too many 2 seamers. According to Ozzie, Javy is throwing the ball real well. Its the park that plays small.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) ^^^^^. I spent 5 weeks in Nanjing, Shanghai and Beijing about 6 years back. The food over there, is what you call Chinese - Chinese food. It's not really American - Chinese food, if you get my drift. And the pollution over there is terrible. You couldn't see the sun at all during the day when I was over there. Have a great time though. Should we warn him about the girls spitting. Oh well I will. The smog and pollution is so bad that people just spit to clear their mouths. You will see some young girl in a miniskirt, walking down the street, then she will hock up a loogy and spit it on the ground. I also saw some disturbing things with people allowing some toddlers just to crap on the street, but maybe that was just isolated. The food, was interesting to say the least. :headshake I forwarded myself a care package with 24 pack of Coke, and a s***load of snicker bars because I heard bad things. I put it in with the switches we had sent over. If it wasnt for those snickers, I would of eaten nothing.

Kenny's thoughts on Ozzie and possible consequences

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) I can see Ozzie quiting over this. If that happens Kenny Williams will not make it to next week alive. Ozzie is bigger than Kenny will ever be. I wish we had a new gm. Maybe If Ozzie quits and Gio turns out to be a complete stud, I will get my f***ing wish. First thing Ozzie isnt quitting over this. Second thing, who the f*** cares about Gio. For every Gio that we are missing out on because we got that Jim Thome character, we get a diamond in the rough like Jenks or Thornton. You know the players your new GM would of passed over. Jenks is worth more to our WS goals this year than Gio will be. You realize that Gio is a prospect, and shockingly may or may not even make it. -

Wheeler reminds me of Bobby Howry. Same high set. Bobby has a much better slider. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Nobody was saying that last year. Why is it Widger's when Garland struggles? There is a difference in the majority of Buerhle's starts when Widger is behind the dish also. Baseball info solutions did some analysis on it, and it was a huge difference in Buerhle starts with AJ and Buerhle starts with Widger. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 24, 2006 -> 02:32 PM) I can't watch this game, but I'll just add this: Garland needs AJP catching him, plain and simple. There is a difference with all of our pitcher when AJ starts behind the plate, or when widger does. There is a huge difference in the pitch calling. Our pitchers nibble like hamsters when Widger is behind the dish.
