QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 08:57 PM) It's really stupid that Marcus isn't playing everyday. He hit two singles in his first game. I wouldn't get to carried away. Let's see where he ends up in 2014

9/5 Game Thread
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 6, 2013 -> 12:48 AM) What an awful offensive effort. Beckham's getting overpowered by 92 mph fastballs tonight. I see we have one run with no RBI for anyone and Q has given up three solo homers. I don't knw what it is about our pitchers and those homeruns allowed but it seems they give up a lot. On the way to seven straight loses

9/4 White Sox vs Yankees game thread
Johnson, Webb and Semien all played in their first game. I am not sure how much positive or negative you can take from one game. You need some time to evaluate. I don't want to get down or up over what you see in a debut game or even game two or three.

Erik Johnson Starting Tomorrow
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 4, 2013 -> 05:07 PM) A high fastball after 2 straight sliders would have seemed like a smart pitch. Speed his bat up again and then set up to come back with the slider again if he lays off the fastball. Yep. Soriano was not going to catch up with a 100 MPH fastball up in the zone

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 4, 2013 -> 04:47 PM) Because Nate Jones's best pitch is his slider. So, if he went up 0-2, threw his slider, and the batter got a hit, then I have no problem wit it. He used his best pitch, if it is the slider, once too often. He needed to come back with that 100 MPH heat

9/3 SOX vs Yanks
I don't want to lose. Dunn isn't retiring. Konerko hasn't said much that I know of but I can't believe he wants to go out on the stats and standings of this season. De Aza isn't as bad as some here try to make him out to be. He plays hard and can hit and steal bases. Anyway, I watched the game Tuesday on WGN. It was fun until it wasn't. Defense and poor relief pitching kind of raise the hackles a bit. And don't forget more poor clutch hitting in the first and second innings

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 4, 2013 -> 02:54 PM) Cooper really layed into him publicly after that last start. Considering Santiago seems like a really good guy, I was kind of surprised. There seems to be something more there than meets the eye. Cooper seems to really not like his style for some reason, and it isn't like he is the first guy to have issues with throwing strikes. I think it is an issue for not only Hector but a couple of our younger guys plus the catcher. They don't go after the hitter. The don't use their best pitch to blow the hitter out after getting two strikes. They nibble and try to be too cute. To many walks are given up. Last night for example with Nate Jones. He had a NY hitter on 2 strikes and instead of coming back with that 100 MPH heater he tries to be tricky and loses. Stone and Hawk were lamenting the pitch selection also

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2013 -> 09:37 PM) I feel sorry for Ventura. I wish they would expand the roster more and just waive guys like Dunn and de aza. Sow some integrity. There's no funny bad about that inning. I'm with Hawk, that was embarrassing I won't blame Dunn. The guy should just be DHing. I thought that was why we got him?

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2013 -> 09:36 PM) Remember when Hawk said that Beckham's return was going to turn the season around? In the haze of Yankee uniforms running around the bases I think it's all coming back to me.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2013 -> 09:36 PM) Most embarrassing inning Hawk has ever called for the White Sox, he declares Tuesday game is on WGN. I will be looking forward to hawk's comments about tonite. You know he will have some
