QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 26, 2013 -> 07:32 AM) Great plays by Uribe on the last 2 outs. That was so much fun. Wow. I wish we had kept Uribe. He is a winner

QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 07:32 PM) I could list 20 reasons why Ozzie is a good fit to coach again, but you probably don't want to hear them. Don't discount the value of a guy who has won the big prize. As good as Leyland is, he couldn't get a ring with the Tigers though he got one earlier than that. Ron Washington? It's not easy to do. At least when Ozzie got to the big series, the World Series, he took care of business. Had we not won in our one-and-done appearance we'd still be without a WS title since the dark ages with none in sight. Personally I respect the ring and Mr. Mouth has one!!!! No matter what u guys think of him. And he's not begging for a job; he's smart to answer questions pointing out he wants back in. I like Ozzie Guillen. Maybe we need an infield coach? I would think so after last year

Cuban baseball has to be as good if not better than Japanese baseball don't you think? Aplus league level is awfully low. I am thinking at least AA plus or AAA. They have won the baseball world classic before with their all-stars

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 20, 2013 -> 06:04 PM) What cracks me up is when this guy becomes available, everyone says the Sox must get him. They get him, then people worry the Sox spent too much. Who cares? You aren't signing the checks. I could only imagine the complaining if the Sox didn't sign this guy. I like this post Dick Allen. It seems this is what we get every time. Basically it's "I feel strongly both ways about this guy." "He may flop and he may not." LOL A plus major league hitter fails 7 out of 10 times. I think the point will be how he hits in the clutch and it appears he is well regardaed in the area of being productive with the bat. I think it will be fun to see what happens with him and the Sox in 2014

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Oct 6, 2013 -> 02:41 AM) What did Boone Logan do? Don't remember that one. I thought that one was on Ozzie? He was mad at Logan and thought he didn't have the Cahones to pitch for the Sox

QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 12:23 PM) Would the Sox consider Frank Thomas as the hitting coach? He has the Walt Hriniak history and seems to have a lot of experience to share. The Walt Hriniak approach is pretty good in my opinion. Make it the Frank Thomas approach in 2014 and we are gold

QUOTE (OsweGo-Go Sox @ Oct 18, 2013 -> 05:42 PM) I've heard nobody say that "Abreu has a good glove at 1B." Folks here are saying Cespedes said it. I thought I read an interview with Viciedo where he said it too? In fact he was given a 4 out of 5 star tool rating. Running being his weakness

If we have this Cuban super star Abreu locked up does it mean Paulie wont ne coming back? Where would PK play other than DH and PT at 1B Where would that leave Dunn? I think it is more likely PK retires and we have Dunn and Abreu sharing DH and 1B. It seems Abreu has a good glove at 1B from what we have been hearing so Dunn stays at DH for the most part. I would like to see PK return as the hitting coach. Think it's possible?

Sox to Make Hard Push for Granderson
elrockinMT replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 14, 2013 -> 10:37 PM) What organization public states it is trying to dump its own players? The New York Yankmees! LOL Didn't they say they wanted A-Rod gone? But, anyway, I know what you are saying. Wouldn't make any sense to have the Sox putting it out there they wanted to dump De Aza. I am not sure they want to trade him. He hasn't been all that bad -
QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 12:26 AM) Agreed. It's just for fun and because it's just for fun I wish more played along. Granted it was a miserable season to follow, but what's the big deal to take a minute to pick a PTC? Hopefully we continue the tradition next year and have more participants. End of "rant". I will run it again next year if the original PTC starter doesn't have time. I will lso keep it updated

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Oct 4, 2013 -> 07:52 PM) Yes he was so he wasn't on the 40 man. I can expect 3-5 more coming before free agency starts That would be a lot in my opinion. Who are you thinking?
-
I will most likely go back and try to figure out PTC winners but in all reality I think the 4 or 5 of us who stuck with this thing through thick and thin are all winners. After all in the end it's just a number

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 08:48 PM) I know one of Bernstein's ties to the organization and they are rock solid. So when does Guillen come back? 2015? Robin seems to have been confirmed for 2014. I wonder where Tony Larussa fits in here

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 1, 2013 -> 02:04 AM) Problem is Beckhams range was solid 2 years ago but has been getting worse every year and was a real weakness this year. Are we talking about the same Beckham? I am talking baseball not soccer Gordo madean absolutely great play on Sunday an showed exceptional range.

I think the Sox plans for 3B in 2014 is a platoon of Gillaspie and Semien. Not sure how that will play out though. So if the team thinks 3B is covered I think 1B needs to be dealt with. I want PK back but I am not sure if that will happen or not. I might also go for a real closer

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2013 -> 02:26 AM) According to Hahn they want a hitting coach with experience which would rule out Thome. Walt Hriniak where are you?

Be watching on TV. Hope we win. Always makes the off season a bit happier. But, they have Cy Chen going

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 28, 2013 -> 02:14 AM) This is just terrible Sale is spent. If he looked spent for game 161 of the season that would not have bode well for a playoff contending team if we had been in that position

Tomorrow we say goodbye to 2013 and look towards next year when the sun shines and the grass is green. The ball hitting the glove and the crack of the bat hopefully not at the same time. Kansas City and the Sox end the season at Noon MDT on WGN

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 26, 2013 -> 06:47 PM) Abreu showcase set for next week. http://www.baseballamerica.com/internation...-for-next-week/ At 26 years old he needs to be ready to start in the bigs. I find it interesting he showcases at the Yankees camp. Hopefuilly I am reading too much into that
