I read the posts and I just don't think this type of criticism and derision has a place and certainly is not acceptable in fans actions towards a player or even towards one of us on this board. Civility and courtesy and respect should be the rule

To get back on Tanaka track... LOL... I have some real concerns with signing any player to the amount on money this guy got and others like Pujols and A-Rod and some others. That's a ton of bank notes for a long period of time for someone you just don't know can perform at the big league level let along stay healthy. He was a phenom in Japan for sure but even as good a Darvish is - just to compare - he can be beaten even if it's 1-0 or 2-1.

I don't think the Chisox will be spending $7-10M a year on a closer, or for that mater any other free agent. We have been relatively conservative in our signings. I think Jones is the leading candidate to close in 2014. However, since Balfour didn't pass a physical for the Orioles and claims he is healthy well who knows. Balfour's signing might come at a reasonable price and thus be worth a chance/risk for the Sox. But, I still like Crain to take Jones' set up role and Jesse might come reasonable also
