  1. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 25, 2013 -> 07:25 PM) Who's to say he wasn't? I'm in rehab right now, too bad my NCAA eligibility is gone or I'd be giving Verlander a run for his money! Maybe a"run"
  2. If Jake goes in a trade we better do better then some AA OF prospect. How many touted OF prospects do we have? Boston's Will Middlebrook sounded interesting for 3B
  3. You could argue that Jake is outpitching Verlander so far. With six hits and a walk where is our clutch hitting?
  4. I didn't mean a four game sweep for the Tigers, Let's hope DUNN can provide our needed firepower
  5. I am of the opinion Danks gives up too many homers
  6. I still watch the games. KC Royals at Sox on WGN on Saturday night
  7. What has happened with the defense this year? We are giving games away
  8. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 02:26 AM) Ho hum, another unearned run. They really have to work with Santiago on his offspeed pitches. Cooper mentioned he wants him to throw a slow hook more. That screwball is just too inconsistent. And the screwball was supposed to be his bread and butter
  9. Santiago is going to have to bear down and do it right away. He has given up a hit -but caught stealing- and a walk already in 1st.
  10. We don't have to trade and that's what I think is going on now in talks. Other teams trying to low ball us. Gregg called it "questionable skill sets." That is kind of laughable since if our in-demand players had less than good skills at baseball they wouldn't be here let alone in demand. If we trade we need to get fair value and that's the bottom line.
  11. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 23, 2013 -> 01:56 AM) I'm ready to mark this down as a perfect game for Scherzer. After 4 innings it don't look good for the offense
  12. Let's throw Tiger scat at them with your PTC
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2013 -> 02:43 AM) Here's another guy we should ship now. Get a fair offer and boom, deal him. He's been utterly fantastic, but is it two straight bad outings? Deal him before his arm gets tired or something. Thank you in advance, Mr. Hahn. He may go for sure. I hope not, but using your reasoning we better sell low-low. Not sure what is a fair value for any player we are looking to trade , but I would hope it's top level prospects and not maybes
  14. Let's put those Tigers back in the Zoo with your PTC
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 08:58 PM) The bullpen didn't allow a hit. Great catch by Wells. Good hitting work by Rios, Alexei, Dunn. Saw in on WGN and liked it a lot. Don't forget the excellent defensive play by Keppinger with bases loaded and two out. That Wells catch was pretty special. They both should make plays of the game highlights
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 03:30 PM) As I stated before, his value is not anywhere near what some think. The report that the Pirates wanted him and Alexei was great, the only problem is when have they ever picked up that kind of money, and why would the Sox send enough money to make the Pirates really interested? He isn't bringing the Sox a top of the line prospect. He isn't or at least wasn't "about to be traded" when he was correctly told to sit down the other night. Anyone who wants to put any blame on Ventura for Rios' " trade value" simply doesn't have any idea what they are talking about. There is a better chance Rios is a White Sox on 8/1 than not. Of course Rios can be traded if the Sox eat enough money, that's not unique. I for one hope we do have Rios after the trade deadline and into next year. I think he is as good an OF'er and hitter with speed as anyone we have on the team and in our system. He is in demand, but the one that we should be discussing is Viciedo. What is up with that guy? He has an above average arm and it's exciting to see him throw out baserunners but where is his hitting? Where are the homers we saw in 2012? I sure don't want to see us give up Rios for some AA prospect and then throw in cash at the same time, if in fact he is traded. Rios offensively has contributed to the Sox in a positive manner. I don't see this team in a must trade situation where we tear everything down to rebuild. Tweaking works just fine for me
  17. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 02:30 AM) Are you aware that Sox have the third worst winning percentage in MLB? Don't be Debbie Downer please. The team is showing life.
  18. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 09:38 PM) Red Sox are in 1st already and picked up Contreras to replace Andrew Bailey . Don't know if that will work out but clearly Red Sox will be play hardball in trades. We don't have to trade anyone to the RedSox. This is not a situation where we are being forced to dump our better players for scraps
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 09:22 PM) I can buy that. I'm just glad Robin finally had enough of Rios' crap and pulled him. That's how some people have to be motivated and obviously it worked. Grand slam. I am the one to thank for Rios today. I put him down a my PTC knowing he would be motivated to sow is lackadaisical running last night was not the real A Rios
