  1. A defensive error and a home run allowed. Sounds like more of the same
  2. Hope Peavy can pitch us to awin and Rios runs hard and our players understand we can play hard, be proud and prepare for 2014
  3. QUOTE (almagest @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 05:32 PM) Less likely: Konerko is out for a while and the team needs a backup, or Dunn is on his way out. More likely: Minor league filler. I think the AAA first basemen aren't hitting very well. Adam Dunn isn't going anywhere and Konerko will be back soon. Might get a look next spring though
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2013 -> 07:54 PM) Oh, thanks. Maybe the all-star break will help him. He definitely needs to get his act together. Maybe the break helps a lot of Sox players
  5. Let's continue to do our winning chant right here with your PTC
  6. Let's do our own chop on those Braves. PTC right here
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 17, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) The rule of thumb is if Dunn were a free agent, would he get the contract he has now? With the answer being a pretty clear "no", you have to let him go. He still has better offensive numbers than anyone on the team currently (not including average)
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 16, 2013 -> 07:25 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@DanHayesCSN 1h For Dewayne WIse, he first went on DL with a right hamstring strain, suffered the oblique as he rehabbed and now has reinjured hamstring. Dewayne Wise remains on the disabled list. Has been returned to Triple-A Charlotte with a strained right hamstring. #WhiteSox Injury aside I thought Wise was hitting better then Jordan Danks. Not sure how they compared defensively but Wise wasn't all that bad. But, my guess he won't be back to the bigs with this team
  9. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 16, 2013 -> 01:00 AM) Well if Boston wants Alexei, I would be willing to make a deal with them. Could get 2 or 3 solid prospects for him Boston wants Crain more
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2013 -> 02:02 PM) Until Ventura is under contract for 2014, the option to choose "Neither" remains. where is El Senor when you need him?
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 16, 2013 -> 02:54 PM) He's been in a long power drought, over 70 at bats since his last homer. He's hitting like .225 on the season, Adam Dunn territory. That's just it. He showcased well in NY for the HR derby but overall when it counts he has been struggling. But, Adam Dunn has been working that average up and Cespedes down
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 15, 2013 -> 04:20 PM) Chicago White Sox FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday, July 15, 2013 WHITE SOX OPTION SIMON CASTRO TO CHARLOTTE CHICAGO – Following yesterday’s game at Philadelphia, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Simon Castro to Class AAA Charlotte. Castro, 25, appeared in four games with the White Sox after being recalled from Charlotte on June 29, going 0-1 with a 2.70 ERA (2 ER/6.2 IP) and six strikeouts. Castro is 3-6 with a 4.92 ERA (41 ER/75.0 IP) and 63 strikeouts over 16 games (12 starts) with the Knights in 2013. The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to their game on Friday vs. Atlanta. I am sure it will be Peavy off the DL. I wonder if Castro is the right move though
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 13, 2013 -> 07:28 PM) What on Earth does his draft round have to do with anything? He got 2nd round money. You are right. Has absolutely nothing to do with it. Just more of the sentiment from some that either our folks aren't worth anything or we HAVE to trade them for scraps. I still agree that Matt was going to be traded but wish we had gotten a bit more in return
  14. Game two picks. I will go with Beckham in game two
  15. I expected Thornton to get traded but I think we could have gotten more. MLB Network guys said the same thing. Boston has a lot of young OF talent in the minors. Plus WE gave Boston money when everyone says we are maxed out
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 08:37 PM) Because we've seen what happens when he gets into a mental rut before. And at least in the AL with the DH a good #9 hitter is almost like a lead off guy
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 12, 2013 -> 08:22 PM) And why getting John Danks off the payroll just to clear salary wouldn't be the worst idea in the world... Jurrjens has struggled with injuries in the past few years. He had right knee surgery after the 2010 season and dealt with a groin issue in 2012. Part of his struggles last season may have been connected to a weakness in his surgically repaired knee. Hermie will fix him. TM. Not following you on Danks? The guy is coming back off shoulder surgery and hasn't been half bad. It could be next year before we see the improved Danks as it takes a while to come back from shoulder surgery and then reports have been the pitcher is actually better as the shoulder is stronger
  18. Let's ring that freedom bell and while at it the Phillies bell too
  19. What is a Phillie anyway? GAME TWO PICKS
