Initially raw upon entering the organization, but has shown strong baseball acumen and ability to incorporate adjustments. Ideal power hitter's frame. Body has been evolving into that of a baseball player's. Fluid swing with plus bat speed via strong hands and lower body torque. Swing is on the long side and can hit out on his front foot too much against breaking balls. High power ceiling. Plus-to-better power potential. Has put a lot of time into developing an approach and learning to be selective at the plate. Shows the knack for getting the barrel on the ball. Strong plate coverage. Fringe-average pitch recognition. Will be tested against advanced secondary offerings. Has trouble turning on balls and likes pitches out and over the plate. High offensive ceiling. Average arm that has been improving as weight drops in his chest and shoulders. Below-average defensive outfielder. Currently struggles reading balls off the bat and tends to freeze on contact, but improvement should come with experience. Solid-average speed and range. Projects as a left fielder during his career. Offense will need to carry him at higher levels, as defensive versatility is limited. Stats leave a lot to be desired, but potential is there. Not sure we could expect more. Had breakout season last year in low A after a slow start to pro ball, hitting .303 with 17 HR, 32 2B, 80 RBI in 115 G for an .881 OPS. 30 SB. High A this season, not so great: .244/.334/.443, 11 HR, 25 2B, 44 RBI in 81 G. 10/14 SB. Recent promotion to AA Richmond, 2/6 w/ 3B in 2 games. Plays LF, supposedly has just gotten to "okay" defensively, even getting some reps in CF. Good athlete, considered an extremely high upside bat. Recently lost a lot of weight which led to the high SB total last year and improved defense. 22 years old. White Sox sure like OF's that strike out a lot. That's only thing that doesn't make me love the trade is the high strikeouts and not seeing a huge improvement increasing his walks since being drafted. Last 11 games, hit .410/.510/.718 with 6 doubles and 2 HR Since May 21, .291/.390/.517 with 13 2b and 7 HR in 43 games This does not include last night's game, his AA debut, where he went 2-3 with a 3B."
