  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 30, 2013 -> 09:26 PM) This team is so incredibly dumb. Ventura just can't get these guys to play the game properly. And what changed this team from last season when defensively we were so good?
  2. QUOTE (Jillian Michaels' Abs @ May 30, 2013 -> 07:36 PM) Here comes a grand slam by a pitcher.... So we can see it on the highlight shows for the next 15 years. You get the prize for calling that
  3. This is crazy bad. But, I am glad Peavy just drilled the scrub. The way these clowns act when they get on base maybe he should drill some more of them and teach them some respect
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 30, 2013 -> 08:17 PM) Dayan has officially quit laying off of the high fb He just swings at everything in the general neighborhood of the ballpark
  5. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 25, 2013 -> 04:08 PM) Series is fun when it's on the weekend. Just another series otherwise. I think you are right. Weekend series at Comoskey and then Stinkly would be more entertaining. I am not real enthused about interleage ball anyway
  6. Let's do this! WGN so see you behind the big screen
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 29, 2013 -> 11:00 PM) It's not the losses. It's HOW they're losing to the Cubs... They've forgotten how to play baseball and regressed to the 6 games under .500 White Sox again. Glad I fell asleep when the lead was 4-2 and woke up in the 9th or I would have been more upset. As it is now, even the Cubs aren't drawing 32,000 fans for these games on a beautiful early summer-ish day. The first play on the batter of the bottom of the first set the stage
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 29, 2013 -> 09:26 PM) Just when the Sox get you to start liking them again, they tank against the Cubs. It's laughable. Yep. Ten wins out of last fifteen is what Stone was talking about. We get shut down in game one of the four, rained out with a 2-0 deficit and then get bombed in game three. I am finding it difficult to be anything but negative and I don't like that, but losing to the Cubs for crying out loud
  9. It's only 4-1. If we can buckle down offensively and maybe get to their pen we can still fight our way back
  10. I don't like the Cubs. Have I ever said that before? YES!
  11. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ May 29, 2013 -> 07:05 PM) Including that at bat, he is now 8-26 on the year with RISP. Dunn and De Aza both ineffective with runners in scoring position today. Hope this isn't the theme for the whole gamer
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 29, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) If Danks doesn't pitch a gem and gives up 4 or 5 runs, how many posts saying his days as an effective pitcher are over will there be? Well, his day(s) as an effective pitcher might be gone for at least one game LOL
  13. WGN. See you all behind the big screen
  14. If the Sox are swinging at everything it sounds like a repeat on Monday nights game. Can't take away anything from the Cubs Smoresdanjanowichits but we helped him a lot. We need some offense and waiting for this group to get consistent is really wearing thin
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ May 28, 2013 -> 09:56 PM) Flowers - 11 R 24 H 4 HR 12 RBI 10 BB .610 OPS 7 CS - 31 ATT - $510,000 A.J. - 10 R 31 H 4 HR 14 RBI 5 BB .710 OPS 2 CS - 15 ATT - $7,500,000 but it is the intangibles
  16. I would not be so quick to be suggesting a Jake Peavy trade. I am actually surprised we only signed him for two years. Another one I might keep on the list is Floyd. It has been reported that pitchers, especially curve ball pitchers, come back stronger then before when they undergo Tommy John surgery.
  17. Nate is young and struggling. He could have struck out 12 in a row last night and it wouldn't have made a difference. He needs to regain some confidence. Pitchers are a fickle bunch. He can still bring the heat so I think control and a good pitch mix is key
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 28, 2013 -> 04:00 AM) I just hope Dunn keeps elevating the ball to center and left center and even left. Bad things happen when he pulls the ball. The big ox just needs to go with the pitch as he has been on most of his long balls lately. The Big Ox? No, Greg it's the Big Donkey
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2013 -> 01:19 PM) Personally, I can't wait until Phegley is actually called up, struggles for a week or so, and then people here declare that they can't stand his approach, they're done with him, he needs replaced, and they never want to see him again. And you know it will happen. Too many live and die on a bad play or a bad game
  20. It seems to me that Gimenez has done pretty good as a backup catcher. Saw him make some good plays at home plate when he blocked off runners. Hawk and Stone called it a lost art. Back up is the role Gimenez was signed to play. Funny how with some this conversation changed from Flowers being replaced by Phegley to dumping on Gimenez. I think it is too early to panic over Tyler Flowers bat and occassional defensive lapses. I wanted to see AJP back with the Sox but they went a different direction so let's give it a bit of a chance to see if Tyler can do the job.
