Wednesday afternoon from Seattle at 2 PM CDT Saturday afternoon as Oakland visits the Sox at 2:30 PM There are pre-game shows before hand so maybe we will have some insight as to the future of this roster?

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 4, 2013 -> 01:37 PM) I assume Gordon just forgot to bring energy last night. It's ok though, as the future captain of this team im sure it'll be there tonight! OK. This team hasn't seen Gordon Beckham since very early in the season and has lost 6 in a row before his return. They lose game 7 in a row and it's Beckham's fault?! Why this hatred for Gordon? Possibly you are an Angels fan and just don't want to be caught criticizing that underperforming group?

I was going to think positive and then decided it wasn't worth it

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2013 -> 06:52 PM) Unfortunately there's not a lot of roster moves that obviously make this team better immediately. Phegley might be the only one with a chance of doing that, and that could also screw him up by bringing him up before he's ready. Personally, if there was something I wanted to see...it'd be a daily repeat of Robin's extra hour of fielding practice. Just non stop until they finally do some of the basics right. I have to agree with you. I posted something similar somewhere. If a signal has gone out who would it be to? What changes would be in order? I don't see any. Maybe they meant benching some starters but are tbere any bench players that would be better? Get back to the basics defensively, bunt the guy over and get a runner on third in with the fly ball and one out and don't strike out so much that's all I can say.Bring up Phegley? maybe. How do we know he is ready and what catcher goes? I may be crazy but I actually think Gimenez has shown more than Tyler

Conor Gillaspie not a good player? Seems ok to me. Plays a strong defense and even though he is no power threat for the most part he has swung a decent bat. Maybe he is our rookie of the year candidate?

With this great thread I sense a renewed vigor and a sense of calm but gritty determination to win. Sox fans everywhere rejoice, including me as I pick Gordon Beckham as my PTC. We are on the right track until we are not.

QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 07:00 PM) I hate this kind of thing. It's a CYA move by Hahn. I agree. Who can you really say isn't trying? Maybe they are trying to hard? Anyway the team isn't getting the job done. And I wouldn't read anything in to a player not being in the lineup today. Like Rios for example. The guy needed a day off after 60 in a row

It seems that when we reached .500 the Sox had brrathed the rarified air of success... and passed out. What the heck is wrong with these guys?

This team needs to have someone kick start the offense. Glad Gordo is back up with the club.

QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ May 31, 2013 -> 06:12 PM) We should trade Dunn to the DBacks for proven workhorse Brandon McCarthy, only problem is that given Dunn's low value I don't think we can execute that move without including man-child Juan Silverio. Was this post made 'tongue in cheek?' Mccarthy a work horse? Maybe, but only when he is healthy which ain't alot. He is back on the DL now

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 31, 2013 -> 08:25 PM) Would be awesome if he had a .259 ba with the Sox. he would be a fan favorite for sure, if that were true. I still think he needs glasses. I have been wondering this very thing. You hear of these things with good hitters going bad for some reason. Get your eyes checked for crying out loud. I just can't believe the man with the hitting history he has is this bad. And I can't blame KW for this move. It looked great at the time and I am betting most of us were ecstatic about the signing. I do admire Dunn for the fact he sucks it up and keeps coming to the ball park everyday. He is trying to get it figured out and doesn't make excuses.

Wow I just logged on to see what's up and everyone is so negative. You would think we were losing or something. Oh wait a minute..... we are! Again

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 31, 2013 -> 03:00 PM) Hawk says he's the next Craig Nettles and that he has the quickest left-handed stroke in the AL. Said it so many times he got a sore throat. If Hawk said it, it must be so. I heard that too. But, every young player who gets a hit for the Sox, or is doing good at the minor league level, is going to be a great one according to Hawk

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 31, 2013 -> 05:15 PM) Clearly, the reason most of us aren't sitting on $100 million or so right now is because we failed to get the proper coaching growing up. Can we find an attorney and sue? Maybe a class action suit even

My analysis is that we got our butts whipped. Now this team needs to move on and do something about it on the field. I like steve's posts but it still kind of amazes me of the analysis on some of our players. Beckham is bad? The guy is probbaly the best fielding secondbaseman in the league and can handle the bat. It just seems that if our folks don't hit .400 with 75 homers they get no love from our own fans
