will the White Sox ever break the 500 mark again?
elrockinMT replied to Soxnews's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Peope ask if we will ever be at .500 or over it again? I guess with the frustration the question is legiotimate. All I know is this team should be playing so much better and it is getting to be one frustrating time waiting for the black holes in our line up to produce. I just cringe everytime the come to bat with runners in scoring position. We get 4 or 5 hits a game and score maybe 3 runs and then get 11 hits in a game and score 3 runs. Watching runners get left on base in scoring psoition time after time is such a crock. We can win with the team as presently constructed is a worn out line if they never produce. -

QUOTE (Mattchoo @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 11:55 PM) I agree with everything except about the part where Alexei Ramirez should be a top SS. I'm probably the only one, but I feel he is an average to above average short stop. I roll my eyes every time I hear a comment indicating that he is so great.... IMO he is serviceable. If I was a GM, I'd pay him $5-$7M annually at the very most for him. Of course our GM is going to be paying him $10M in '14 and '15 I think Alexei is an real good to above shortstop. But, I think he stil avoids contact and today, or maybe on Saturday, he didn't get in front of a ball that should have been stopped

Ozzie confirms Rios will be in lineup tomorrow
elrockinMT replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I wonder if Rios gets it? Plays like a little league kid out there and then seemingly pouts about being called out on his lack of hustle and performance. He is adark hole in the line up and when we have several not producing it just can't be good for our "all in it" stance -
Tonight's loss may lead Williams to start trading players

why are folks allowed on this site making claims like that anyway? -

JR and KW need to clarify the direction of the "All In"
elrockinMT replied to chisoxfan09's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Boston scored ten runs yesterday. We haven't scored more than 6 for quite awhile. Usually it's 2-3 or 4 runs a game. If this offense can ever start producing more thn 4 or 5 hits agame and the solo homer we will be on arun. Maybe that's too big of an "if"? Winning changes everyones mindset and we are making some headway and have about 55 or so games left. Come away wih winning series against the Bosox and Yanks and we will be sitting pretty good I think. -
I think we all have to accept the fact Rios will start. You knew it would happen. Now if benching him a couple games translates into some hits and hustle then we will look back on it and say it was the right move. But, if he pouts and sluffs in the field it's time to really get serious about moving him regardless of the cost

Jackson & Teahen to TOR for Frasor & Stewart (RHP)
elrockinMT replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 07:29 PM) I must have missed the hate for Jackson. Last few weeks, everyone on here has been saying he's one of the best pitchers on the market. Do we hate Kenny for trading cost-controlled Hudson for Jackson and his heavy salary...yes I think at the end of that day it's always what have you done for me lately. Anyway you have to wonder about some of the trades as we don't have much to show for them anymore except a depleted minor league system -

QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 03:00 AM) My sources tell me that several teams are interested in Alex Rios right now and are willing to send the Sox two lesser prospects with the Sox absorbing 110 % of Rios' contract. 110%? Ok that makes alot of sense. We are so desperate to give a player away we will PAY YOU -

Rumor: Rios/Thornton to Brewers for Gamel?
elrockinMT replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Shedding Rios' salary is not areason to trade Thornton for someone we probably can't use. I think Rios can be dealt by himself. Anything is possible. I was told sometime earlier no one would take Teahan either -
Rumor: Rios/Thornton to Brewers for Gamel?
elrockinMT replied to Steve9347's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I am confused about why we would seemingly have interest in trading two players on the major league roster - one a very good lefty reliever- for an infielder who has been up for short stints with Milwaikee in 4 seasons and failed to stick including this year. In 2009 the guy had 128 at bats and struck out 54 times. We have a high strike out guy now so why do we need another one? A contest maybe? Don't give me the line of shedding salary either thank you very much. Don't see any spot for him in the infield either. -
Alexei is a good to great SS and improving every year. He needs to stay there

QUOTE (Real @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 02:07 AM) Dude, De Aza had a f***ing .876 OPS in AAA, Josh Fields was a AAA stud. 1. Prospects bust. That's why they're called prospects, and not major leaguers. 2. I never said Viciedo will bust. I said he could bust. Next I think I understand what you are saying, but flks think Beckham is a bust. I don't. I see someone pushed to the majors too quick and now having to learn his second position in the bigs. I think Gordo will be huge in the coming years
