  1. Thornton in relief to pitch to Sizemore equals 4 pitch walk. This is getting pathetic
  2. I was watching TBS game on Sunday when Dotel was in there vrs Boston. he satrted the same stuff. The announcers were pointing out that Cooper was on the phone to the bullpen and Dotel could see him becasue of his delivery and then finish. It seemed Octavio turned it up a notch to get out of the inning. He has been less then automatic for awhile now
  3. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 06:22 PM) Maybe it's just picking certain ABs in my mind, but it seems as a trend when the Sox pitchers get ahead they pick and pick instead of being agressive. Opposite of some of the hitters, they get in a dominant count and they swing at anything that is thrown up there No, I agree with you 100%. They just can't seem to just come in and challenge the hitter and they have dominated to set the guy up. They then nibble around
  4. How long before the pinch runner challenges Toby hall?
  5. Why can't these releif pitchers come in and shut the door? Dotel gets an out then promptly gives up a walk to a guy with no homers and after he gets a 1-2 count on the guy
  6. Dotel in the 7th means either DJ Carrasco or Linebrink in the 8th. I wonder if Ozzie has enough confidence in Linebrink to bring him in for the 8th at this point in time after a return from injury?
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 06:08 PM) 6th inning Javy. It looked like he was dealing at 95-96 MPH too and couldn't get it done. At least he gets the choo-choo out for the third out
  8. 2 outs and 2 strikes on the hitter and he can't put him away. Sad lament
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 05:56 PM) Hawk and DJ were saying that if it was AJ, he would have convinced the umps that it actually was ball 4... Doug Eddings probably would have went for it Good one and true too
  10. Just checked in. Saw the line up and didn't know if I was on the right site or not. But, it seesm to be working. Javy has shown up for this game too.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 29, 2008 -> 01:31 PM) It's crazy that the Angels are the only team in the AL with a winning road record...and they are 15 over .500 on the road! What are they doing that the rest of the league is not? Playing like winners who are on a mission
  12. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 03:24 PM) If Brian Anderson does not start today. I really think they need to release him. If you can not hit, and this team is struggling to do so then you need to put your best defensive players out there. Enough with the Joe Crede experience. I am also once again trying to figure out what Nick Swisher does so much better than Brian Anderson. The singing and dancing numbers are getting a little old when you can't hit. He has completly melted away on this road trip. It's a little late in the season for wholesale changes based on frustration. Things happen. if these guys are winners, and I still believe they are, they just need to pick each other up and play better. One thing for sure we can't win this division by only picking up the final game of a series. This team is not showing anything right now that's very positive. Maybe today
  13. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:33 PM) martinez waits til september when we are in a pennant race to hit his first HR...yay That was my thought exactly. There seem to be a lot of players who get their first major something against the Sox
  14. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:32 PM) Danks walks the lead off batter. Could be a long night followed by a homer by Martinez. 2-0 Tribe
  15. Danks walks the lead off batter. Could be a long night
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:30 PM) What in the hell do we have to do to get Swisher and Crede out of the lineup? I'd wait awhie on that. Crede came through in Boston on Sunday with a clutch hit. Now Swisher might need a break for a bit. He hasn't looked real good for more than a few games now
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:28 PM) It's like we have to pinch run for Konerko as soon as he gets on base. He runs like a car with a flat tire as does half this team
  18. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:25 PM) Ozzie likes to give players a start right after calling them up if possible. If it was a lefty pitching, BA would be starting tonight. Actually I think you are right
  19. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:24 PM) haha yeah, and on top of that it was morneau who didnt get it done ....that probably drops his average to like .785 with runners in scoring position I think they need to trade that guy and that Mauer guy too
  20. Leave it to the Swish man to get an out though
  21. Paulie gets our first hit and goes to 2nd on the error. I am very happy for PK and his breaking out of a season long slump. I still like the guy a lot
  22. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:12 PM) twins don't score with first and third and one out. shocking. They must be done for the year then?
  23. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:09 PM) in absolutely no way am i defending playing owens, but i never understand the BA love....whats wrong with an OF of swisher griffey dye with PK at first? edit: besides defense lol And I have nothing against Owens it's just that BA has been with the team all year long and I think that he deserves a start. Owens can bring a lot to the table too especially speed, but he is a late season call up and not a full time player at the big league level like BA has been
  24. QUOTE (tommy @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:10 PM) I really want to see a base hit, after last night.. And right away too plus a quick run or 8
  25. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:10 PM) Sizemore with a two strike lead off hit. Could be a long night Folowed by a DP. Could be short night
