  1. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 19, 2008 -> 04:41 AM) Well considering the offense has taken the month off. They should be rested. Maybe they can hit the ball a bit. The Royals have hit the ball well this month. We maybe need to actually score runs to win games. Your POST sums in all up very nicely. I too can't believe we went with 3 days rest with al these pitchers we have on the roster now. Sure didn't work out for Vazquez did it? But, an offensive showing on a consistent basis these last series would be real nice to see.
  2. Sure not a good start to things for Javy and the Sox. Brings back bad memories. Offesne gets a run and the picthers give it right back up
  3. QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 05:40 PM) This bullpen better stop handing over games left and right if you want to see bubbly a week from Sunday. Just a thought. Amen! Thornton and Jenks are about our most effective now. Jenks struggled for a few games, but I think that was just a blip
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 05:22 PM) Their bullpen would have to step up first... don't repeat yourself
  5. Know what really hits home is the attendance figures for the Sox in those days. Very low. I recall that even the 1967 Great pennat race saw less than a million at Comiskey
  6. QUOTE (YASNY @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 06:54 PM) That defensive regression my very well be a result of that bad knee. To be fair to Josh Fields you may be correct. Question is did he suffer from a knee problem ALL year long? He struggled mightily at AAA
  7. Hope to make it home in time to watch the game on WGN
  8. Minny might catach us if our bullpen doesn't step up
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 04:49 PM) Who is going to trade for a guy that put up the numbers that he did this year AFTER he has knee surgery? Should have put that in green but what I really think will happen is that we will see excuses being made for Fields and a clamor for him to be our 3baseman of the future again because he was hurt and now he is healed. There seems to be so much hate out there for the likes of Joe Crede, even PK and Thome, that it is sometimes very hard to understand.
  10. I think Konerko and Thome are mainstays of the team. I would hope they would be back. Keep in mind that a blend of veterans and newbies is what builds a winning ballclub in most cases. I love Joe Crede and would hope that another off season of rehabbing and strengthing his back would be good, but I am pretty much resigned to the fact her is gone and we may see a free agent or a trade being made. I know the Sox love Chone Figgns for whatever reason, but why would the Angels give him up if he's that good?
  11. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:21 AM) dear jermaine dye....anytime you want to contribute this september, it would be much appreciated...thanks, daa84 No homers this month I think
  12. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:19 AM) Joba and Rivera don't have 0.00 ERAs... I'm not sayin' I'm just sayin'. It can be done I am sayin what I think you are sayin
  13. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:17 AM) Way to go MacD. He gets Ivan Rodriguez for out #3 I think I screwed up. I could have sworn Gameday had the Yanks with 2 outs and Rodruguez grounded out for out #3
  14. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:17 AM) Hey man, why don't you just turn the radio on and watch the tube if you can't stand him? Like a Bears game. Is that you Hawkeroo?
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:17 AM) Why is Hawk so surprised? Its Mike MacDougal. Its like being shocked Josh Fields strikes out. Good one!
  16. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 01:10 AM) The kid pitches a hell of a game. Too bad the offense forgot to show up, and our manager is trying to invent new and improved ways to create outs. The kid stepped up. But, why oh why when our pitchers do a good job our offesne struggles. Offense can manage only 5 hits off a guy with a 9.00 ERA coming into tonights game
  17. Richards gets the Yankmees in the 1st on a walk, DP and a weak grounder to the mound. Good job!
  18. I was going to yip and yap over CR giving up the lead off walk, but to get Jeter to GIDP is pretty solid.
  19. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 12:16 AM) Well, of course the Twins scored one off Lee! At least he limited the damage and it's only 1-0. Everytime right? We don't score when we should and the Twinks do. Good thing this game is 9 innings. I'll feel better if Clayton gets out of the first
  20. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 12:11 AM) Three batters faced by Hughes and his ERA drops from 9.00 to 8.47. This kid is good! Excuse me it was 8.74. but he's still a gamer
  21. Three batters faced by Hughes and his ERA drops from 9.00 to 8.47. This kid is good!
  22. I say again I am confused that the Sox trot out lefty Richards who has not been effective. We are facing a pitcher with an ERA of 9.00, which means he will probably shut the Sox down for 5 or 7 innings. Hopefuly CR keeps us close.
  23. PK probably has been affected by injuries more this season then he has let on. I still think he is one of the main anchors on ths club. Thome is another one some people were writing off earlier this season
  24. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 03:59 AM) So what 2 of Jenks, Quentin, Ramirez and Danks are you putting Floyd ahead of? Maybe he meant the top (13)? Gavin has done a real good job as well as Danks. We have the pitchers if they would just be consistently as good as we think they can be
