I bet he was able to work on approach type stuff in the film room with Manto while he was out. It can help when you get to work on the theory side of approach without having to go out there and reinforce your bad habits before you totally grasp it. Dayan knows that he is one of the few threats actually taken seriously in the lineup right now, so there's no reason to play the pitchers' game and swing at pitches out of the zone.

I like how the media is ripping him to shreds for it. He's not making excuses, he's pointing out the obvious. It's not like he goes to the locker room and says "we're f***ed, the refs are out to get us so we're not going to try"

I would only trade Alexei for good, young MLB player(s). You would fill one of your positions of need with the return on an Alexei trade, if you were to do that.

FWIW, if I was doing an Astros-style teardown, I would be playing Jordan Danks every day in CF. I would never ever do an Astros-style rebuild though. That's stupid.

The bad calls hurt us, but we can still overcome it by avoiding bad fouls. Too many off the ball and/or far away from the basket fouls. Even if they were called a little too closely, they were zero payoff plays in the first place. We can't have them in the bonus for the last 8 minutes of the game and constantly be paranoid about guys in foul trouble.

We didn't play that badly tonight. I hate how it was officiated, but it wasn't too far off from normal. Just need to make stops, but we don't have the depth to do it, especially when we aren't getting foul calls in our favor. I still think we might take another one.
