  1. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 02:00 PM) With Sox not even bothering to bring Morel back up, I think its safe to say we'll never see him again. Oh, are we talking about Youk?
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 30, 2012 -> 01:57 PM) Don't forget that not having a legit back-up to rest him really hurt the situation as well. ???
  3. saw a guy in my gym doing p90x from his laptop and thought of reddy then I thought of how p90x was especially useful because you could do it in your home so I was confused
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:48 PM) Almost there, jake, almost there I figure it could be my tenth anniversary present That plus a penalty on my GPA for all the time I spend here
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 10:38 PM) There are plenty of longtime posters that promote their own sites, side projects and blogs on this site. Have you seen multiple posters with Flapship.com in their sig? Statestsports started here as a poster named Jimbos drinker. We dont have a problem with that. What we do have a problem with is people who show up, register and immediately link their own blog as a way to drive up their own site traffic. Thats bulls***. If you want to participate in discussion and be a member of the site, we are all about that. But you and Soxnews(if that is another person or just an alternate name of yours) look like you are just setting up to start linking to your blog. Thats why other members as well as mods and admins are calling it out. Dont play the "you guys discourage discussion" card around here either, thats a copout. If you participated in threads like others do you would see there is plenty of discussion, some of it leads to arguments of course but there is some damn good members on this site that provide some damn good insight and thoughts on many different topics, so dont act like you are reinventing the wheel by coming up with a poll and a paragraph to start a discussion. Other people do it too. I've been trying to join the "damn good posters" group since September 2004
  6. Just bought a Pandora One subscription, mainly so I can have the desktop subscription but I also like unlimited skipping. Did I dun goof? Anyone use this?
  7. Can't wait to hear about this for 2+ years now.
  8. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 06:37 PM) I have a bad feeling about next year. It seems like this was the year to make some noise. I mean, can we expect Rios, Dunn, Konerko, AJ and Peavy (if they even come back) to repeat the successes of this year? Having everyone produce to the finish may make up for poorer average statistics. Those blowout wins should donate some run support to these games. I think Dunn will be better. Rios very well may repeat this year. PK will either be gone entirely, not make it through the whole season, or be better (minus one month). AJ won't be better and we probably won't get someone to get a season together like Peavy did, though the rest of the rotation should be a bit better across the board. Getting Danks back will be big and hopefully no spot in our rotation produces like the Humber spot.
  9. I pay over $100 to get fillings even with dental insurance??
  10. Ozzie can't be a broadcaster...he doesn't speak English! For Christ's sake you'd never understand him. Even worse is the thought of Ozzie with an uncensored microphone in front of him for 3 hours.
  11. Mauer did not swing at a good pitch for him to hit there
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 05:41 PM) Viciedo is so clueless on how to swing against RHP. I looked at the stats, and I forgot how bad he was against them last year as well. His hole is inside which is much more fixable than a guy that only pulls. Getting a guy to go from seeing the ball too deep to catching it out front is a lot easier than the reverse in my experience. He can also adjust just about nothing physically and change his pitch selection, cutting out all the swings on fastballs inside off the plate.
  13. I'm very interested in how Tank does next year. An uptick in his power numbers puts him in pretty dangerous territory. Since he hasn't finished the season on any particular hot streak, we'll see what can be gained just from being used to the grind, healthy, perhaps in better shape, and working on whatever he needs to work on skill-wise.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 05:38 PM) Absolutely. I predict 3/45 for Peavy. If I'm the Sox I would consider 3/33 (not sure yet if I'd do it) and just hope that the Dodgers achieve lucidity lol @ Rios making his teammates look bad
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 05:37 PM) No way does Peavy only take 2/25. He'll try and get as much as possible given that it's probably his last big multiyear deal. How many years do you think he'll get? Do you think the Dodgers are really going to add MORE to their payroll at this point?
  16. I wouldn't make a move on Gavin's option until the last possible moment. You'd love to reallocate that money to a more surefire righty, but you may not be able to with the typical FA market. The real question is, would you give 12-13 for 2 years to Peavy or 9.5 to Gavin over one season? (let's pretend that Peavy would take that deal from us because the market isn't as crazy as we think or he wants to give us a hometown discount, etc)
  17. Why would the Tigs let Verlander rack up all these pitches now that he has such a big lead?
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 05:31 PM) Does a 4 mil buyout of Peavy's contract count toward this year's payroll, or next year's? How do they look at that? I have the Sox at 72.75 mil next year for 8 players. 82.25 if you include Floyd. I believe you'd count it to next year's
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 29, 2012 -> 05:28 PM) I wonder why Dweezy is good for a long stretch then so bad. Must be the nature of baseball when you have average skills. Yeah probably an issue of sample size and favorable match ups at first. I'm sure people started scouting him more thoroughly after he started getting more at bats, too
