May 18, 201312 yr Veal's numbers in the minors were pretty bad against lefties, but hopefully he'll find his release point and return to form. Edited May 18, 201312 yr by fathom
May 19, 201312 yr QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ May 19, 2013 -> 12:23 AM) Veal has to go, hopefully to never return. Sigh. Yeah, hopefully a guy who dominated the league last year will never come back. The only thing that matters is this month.

Dominated the league?! OK, in the 13 innings that he pitched. I'm thinking he was a fluke last year. Yeah, he dominated hitters but it was a very small sample size. He's not dominating any one this year, although again, small sample size.

Obviously he's been terrible this year, but that's no reason to hope he continues to fail and is tossed aside. It'd be, um, more than a little nice if he could succeed. Why someone would cheer for a player to fail, go away, and never come back because of a few months of struggles is baffling to me.
May 19, 201312 yr Who's cheering for him to fail? I'm just saying he IS failing and therefore I don't want him around. I'd obviously love to be wrong. I don't ever hope anyone on the White Sox fails.

The odd are pretty good that last year was the outlier, and not the rest of his career. He never even had that good of a year in the minors, let alone in the majors.
