QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 06:06 PM) Out of the rap on the market right now, I only really consider a handful (Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West) to even be legit. Most of the other stuff is manufactured horse s***. yeah, thats exactly what im sayin. I mean admittedly i love jay z, but even i have to say that very few of his songs have lyrics that mean anything. Songs like Dirt of Your Shoulders and Big Pimpin, are good and have nice beats to them but arent very meaningful. And anyways hes retired now. Eminem on the other hand is very talented. I honestly think that he is right up there with 2pac in terms of talent and lyrics. And most of the other s*** out there, like Nelly and Ludacris, isnt even rap, its just pop/club/dance music. So yes, i do think that Kanye, will bring rap back to what it should be

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) He is a talented guy, but I don't see him bringing back rap as has been stated in this thread. He is nowhere near the talent of Tupac, a guy who is still making records fly off of shelves after being dead now almost nine years. And yes, his speech did nothing to get him new fans because he came off like a conceited jackass who is full of himself. His CD is great, I enjoy it, he is talented, but he is some of the things he has been described as in this thread and he's not going to save the rap world. your right about tupac being awesome. that is true. but im talkin about the s*** thats current and out right now i.e. lil jon, ja rule, that bs rap.

QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) My problem with him is his attitude.. one minute singing about the holy one..the next saying crap like "you don't have to worry about what I would have done had I not won".. yea, but i think that was just a shot back at those who were dissin him for not winning at the AMA's.

what the f*** are they talkin about? morneau and mauer best at their position? thats the biggest bs ive ever heard. id take hafner over morneau anyday. and mauer? even heard of I-rod? who care what these guys say. they dont kno s***

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) It took 3 people to write these lyrics? haha Oh, sorry, 4. I forgot Happy Gilmore. ok, i understand why you might not like those lyrics. But check out songs like Never Let Me Down. In it, he talks about how his grandpa used to take his mom to sit ins against racism and how she was arrested. You have to admit that most rappers do not even go near things like that

QUOTE(El Piervizdyeguchansodnik @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) Kanye West isn't bringing anything back, the guys a jackass. He lost some "best new artist award" some time back to that country singer, and threw the biggest hissy fit to the media, using quotes like "I should have won" "I am better" As far as I'm concerned that jackass deserves nothing. f*** you :finger

firefox is awesome. Those bs toolbars that show up on IE cant do the same with firefox. What i really love is the tabs feature, which is way better than opening new windows

QUOTE(UICJason @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) Question...I suppose I could just look it up, but what is he talking about with the "accident?" I love the album, and I think he's pretty cool, but I can't pretend to know too much about him. The performance was outstanding however... not sure about the exact details, but he got into a car accident where he almost died. he had reconstructive jaw surgery and his jaw was actually wired shut for 6 weeks. This is when he recorded the song "Through the Wire" which is impressive

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 10:48 PM) I read an article in the IndyStar that mentioned such... aight cool, thanx man. I can't wait till the first single is released

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) I just turned the Grammy's off; I saw everything I wanted to see. I wanted to see Green Day and Kanye perform. Both of their performances were awesome. I was really happy for Kanye when he won. His new CD comes out in April; I'm really looking forward to it! his CD comes out in April? are you sure its that early? i thought it was much later this year. But if it is, that would be sweet, cuz im sure its gonna be amazing.
-
Anybody see Kanye West perform? I thought that it was simply amazing. He is really good live. I also was in awe when he almost started crying when he accepted his award, because he was talkin about his accident. I really think that he is gonna bring rap back. For those who dont know who Kanye West is you should really check out his CD, The College Dropout, even if you dont like rap. He's a rapper from the south side of Chicago, but is way different from most rap. He actually raps about personal experiences that people can relate to instead of the usual drugs, violence, girls, and being gangsta
