Allright, maybe my heart speaks. The 2nd base piece of my heart was cut out. Ray is capable of making some great plays though. I've seen a few. This remains my "best White Sox moment". ... ... July 5, 2000 The Sox are looking like the best team in MLB! But it is still early. In extra innings the Sox get screwed on a double-play call at 1st base-- safe by I'd say 1/2 a second, no outs yet. This was in KC, and even the Royals fans grimaced. Then later... ... I think it was the bottom of the 11th, 1 out, men on 1st and 3rd-- fast one hopper to the right of second. Ray Durham some how got a jump on that speedy hit, running towards CF. How he touched it I'll never understand, how he stayed on his feet and pivoted in the air and hit the SS at 2B, it was truly a beautiful feat! = DP ( I would like to see a film clip of that, unbelievable. ) Anyway the Milkman and Konerko hit HRs and it was over. Really Unbelievable! I've seen Ray make some other great plays but that one is my favorite. Seen him muff some that my grandma could've handled too. Please excuse my heart, I'm kind of in mourning.

Yes, Ray Durham had "lapses". But, we all know we lost someone who deserved to be an all-star. I felt secure with Ray at 2nd base. Que sera- at least he's in the NL.

Anyone old enough to have seen Brooks Robinson should believe he was the best defensive 3rd baseman of all time with the possible exception of Pie Traynor. If you never heard of Pie Traynor, maybe you should find out before you want Minoso with him in the hall of fame. Minoso was very good. Hall of fame?? If skin color qualifies for the hall of fame, maybe we need more than 1 hall of fame.

I've heard of the Birmingham Barons, just never seen Aaron Miles play. I was only wondering why he is so interesting. Looked up his record--- .259- 8 - 42 2001 .322- 9- 68 2002 all in double A The .322 looks good. What is a AA .322 worth in the majors? Is he a great fielder? Just curious-- I'll keep looking--

All this information about how the head office has screwed up and is to blame. And how the players have let us down, year after year. So much blame for our disappointment. So much hope for our pitching staff-etc. Yet I am waiting to read -- How do the fans evaluate the field manager? Please tell me why there is so little attention and apathy to the man given the challenge to produce a winner. In 5 years the Sox are 16 games over .500 ( 19 ) regular season. Manuel came in to a line-up with: Frank Thomas In his prime Robin Ventura Albert Belle Harold Baines Ray Durham et cetera so sad And what have we to show for it?---- 2 losing seasons, 2 over .500 seasons, and and 1 break even year. I'm not critizing, but is that the best he can do? Is that OK with you?

Gradink, I'm new here too and also a lifelong Sox fan. I don't like losing but I absolutely Love the White Sox! I love the Sox more than the NFL, College basketball, and Boxing put together. I'm prepared to lose but i'm not sick or depressed about it. But I am hopeful once again because the Sox are really good and really have a shot at it all. One day they will do it and only us Sox fans will know how sweet it can be. To hell with the Yankees, Raiders, Lakers. They're the ones that are sick of losing. We are hungry.

Ken Harrelson is the best announcer. Period. I like DJ because he is Sox/family. You all know Wimpy was better than DJ though. I miss Wimpy---what has he been doing since he left WGN? Hawk + anyone = best duo announcers in sports.

I voted for Konerko because I have hope that he will be as good as Ordonez. Ever since I became a fan I have had to live on hope. My apologies to Big Frank-the greatest Sox hitter ever.
