Question about Freddy
Yea it's weird. I haven't seen him pitch at all. Same with Buehrle, but then again, he pitches in about an hour

Bruce Pearl and U of I?
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 12:04 AM) Ok... Bruce was an assitant at Iowa Illinois had won the recruiting battle for Deon Thomas. Pearl illegaly recorded a phone convo he had with Thomas where Deon said we would give him a car or something. But Pearl edited the part where he told Deon he would top our offer. He turned it in to the NCAA we go on probation for 5 years. It's even bigger than that though too. See Jimmy Collins was an assistant for the Illini and next in line to be head coach of the Illini. Pearl alleged that Collins was the one who offered all the benefits to Deon Thomas which Illinois was basically forced not to give him a job and eventually led to him having to leave. Now you say what's the big deal about that?? The big deal is that the public leaguers loveeeed Collins and were pissed off Collins wasn't the coach at Illinois so all the public league coaches told their players to stay away from UofI in Urbana because they were racist or w/e. That's why it's been such a tough task for the Illini to recruit in Chicago(more specifically the Public League up until recently). That's why you see Jimmy Collins getting more public leaguers at UIC and the rest going to Depaul or out of state. That's why UIC and Jimmy Collins hate him so much and is why they have never shook hands after a game. Sort of the Kobe-Shaq thing, but much more real.

Mets interested in Billy Koch
Low risk- high reward. Maybe this guy could correct him. It's only a minor league deal. Calm down guys.

Congressional hearing thread
QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) So he dressed up to speak for one minute? Do you think steroid use in cheating. Mcqwire~~~ '' that is not for me to determine''. Yeah, as it goes on, more evidence goes against McGwire being clean. How can you say that's not for me to determine when you're asked to give your personal opinion. It's like answering all of the above to a true or false question.

He's not irish. He's probably rehabbing and taking it easy. Hell he probably was wearing shorts or pajama pants.

AJ on Bud Hot Seat
QUOTE(El Caballo @ Mar 17, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) Isn't Herges a real good friend of PK's? No wonder PK and AJ don't talk. AJ = Future Clubhouse Cancer

Congressional hearing thread
He did it. He keeps saying he won't talk about the past. The guy from Maryland is going straight at him and I appreciate it. He did it. That son of a b****. I knew it back in 98 too. I always told my dad that he was on it because if you look, the man took light swings at homers that were porch shots. His swing was very light and he looked like he wasn't trying then. I can't speak about him prior to STL because I didn't see him, but with STL, he didn't look like he tried when he hit HR's.

I like Schilling. He speaks his mind on anything. You may not agree with it, but I like hearing his thoughts.

Haha, McGwire did it and he knows it. He is caught up. I don't think Palmeiro or Sosa mind lying because they'll be in their respective countires in a couple of years. They can't do anything by then. And the investigation(to find out they're lying) will take ages to find out if they actually did it or not.

Billy Koch Released by Jays
He was a great guy. I want to know what the hell happened to his arm in Oakland.

Congressional hearing thread
I've been watching since about 11 and this is flat out boring. They aren't going to get anything out of this except kids, don't use steroids. That kid's manager who had 20 players on the team taking steroids has to be an idiot not to realize what's going on and not showing the kid a proper diet(giving him a list to eat).

First Manager to Go
I think Dusty would be the first to go. Remember, he really didn't want to go to Chicago, but all the other jobs were taken and he wanted to manage that year. Hell, I think he would've choosed the White Sox if they were there over the Cubs(IMHO). I think he'll jet once he gets the chance if he's not fired yet.

Sox make 3 more roster moves...
I don't think Cotts is guarenteed a playoff spot. I'd say you have a better chance of seeing Walker making it and Cotts would probably be stretched out in AAA. Cotts would be a September callup though.

Shingo
Not worried. He's pitched in every game possible. He's not going to have an ERA of zero, but he'll do good again this year. I can't wait to see his new pitch.

Guillen: McCarthy 'best pitcher we have right now'
He thinks very highly of McCarthy. The more and more I see of this kid, he seems like he's going to be the next Rick Ankiel(before control problems happened). He's going to be the Miguel Cabrera of pitching.

MVP Baseball 2005
I converted Ginter into a starter and he absolutely dominated for me.

Vikings signed QB Brad Johnson
Jay Fiedler sucked. You're better off with Craig Krenzel. I would sign Carter over Blake, but wouldn't mind Blake. Carter was a sharp backup last year and has proved he could play. I honestly think the Bears should just resign Jeff George though. He knows every offense basically and he could throw the ball deep.

Astros waive RHP Pete Munro
If I'm the Sox, I would pick him up. Heck he can't be that bad. If anything he'll add to minor league depth.

Frank asking to withdraw subpoena
^^Thanks for clearing that up. I know he's been a good ambassodor to the game which is why I was thinking this was strange.

Frank asking to withdraw subpoena
I thought he wanted to speak out on steroids. I guess maybe MLB is forcing him too. I hope that's what it is.

Willie over Iguchi?
I think this is a nothing article. I don't think Willie will be starting and I don't see him being traded. I think KW is just trying to show confidence in Willie so he doesn't have a moping player in the clubhouse.

Mags hits HR in first spring start
*patiently waits for part that involves White Sox*

Sox Sign Jeremy Giambi
Still think it's a good signing. Nothing's going to convince me otherwise. He'll add depth to the minors and could be a good bench player if he does come up. No biggy.

Is BMac the 6th starter?
Just like Aaron Rowand not batting 3rd just like so many predicted and wanted, I'm predicting that McCarthy isn't the 6th starter.

Ex-Bull Jason Williams
I don't think the Bulls will bring him back unfortunately. I see him possibly signing with Charlotte.
